könig is a man whoâs emotions depend on external validation (am i projecting? no shut up)
so he opens up a tiktok account where he posts all those thirst traps, all those silly videos where he flexes his arms, muscles and skin twitching and moving, tight shirt pulled tight around the sheer size of him
he starts small, just a few people liking and commenting compliments, a few wilder ones leaving some out of pocket comments that he giggles at while his cheeks and ears are red
but then someone comments something about wanting to know him more, âwhatâs your favorite scent?â or âwhatâs your preferred furniture store?â
kinda weird, but heâs so intrigued that he makes a tiktok answering your strange questions, listing off his favorite colors, mentions ikea (and the satisfaction that comes with building his own furniture when he doesnât have the time to actually cut out the wood), also mentions he loves guns and knives, and then turns the questions to you
after he posts that video, he gets on his computer and searches you, any tiny information he gets from your phone getting filed away in his head. your account is private but thatâs not even a problem for his skills and the technology he has available
he finally finds you, sweet looking thing, so soft and pretty. he has access to your phone camera and will soon own your television and computerâs view too
youâre on your bed, laying on your side with half your face squished into the pillow, and youâre looking at your phone. he can hear his voice sounding from the little speakers and when he turns the questions to you, you giggle, and he falls in love with the noise

hmm, dazai being on the receiving end of such behaviors is not new to him, but itâs definitely different. heâs noticed lately that someone is following him, which he usually would brush off, but he hasnât been able to pin down who it is yet â causing him some unusually tense and nervous emotions. there are also a few of his things missing that he canât find â he doesnât have much so it is easy for him to notice their absence. heâs been keeping this a secret for the most part, not sure who to tell or how to tell them, since he is labeled as a womanizer that anyone simply fawns over. itâs doubtful any of his friends and colleagues would take him seriously, believing he âbrought it upon himselfâ or needs to be âmore careful with his love interestsâ. while none of that is true nor warrants these kinds of actions, he does know who and how he is, most likely it being an ex lover he scorned.
dazai did find something recently though that made him realize this might be a bigger issue, and he should talk to someone. heâs getting a little bit more internally nervous over this situation, but the only person he can think to talk to is you. you two are colleagues, you get along well enough, you visit each otherâs respective homes from time to time. he trusts you, and you never judge him for his outwardly faux romantic behaviors toward women of interest, nor for his suicidal tendencies that he treats as mere pastimes. youâre also very quiet, so you wouldnât dare spread rumors about him. so, he pulls you aside one day at the agency, confiding in you about the issues heâs been having, reassuring you that he is âdefinitely not scaredâ, but he reveals the small camera he had found tucked away in his dorm. itâs not a very large living space, somewhere heâs at constantly â change is noticeable. especially something as âobviousâ as a camera.
you show concern, express the same worries heâs been having, that he may be in danger. he mentions maybe bringing it up to the police, and you agree, it is an incredibly serious situation, and you wouldnât want anything to happen to him. you even offer to drop it off for him! thatâs very sweet, heâs relieved and feeling better already. and you have to remember heâs an observant man, a literal detective for the agency, and you have to be more cautious. heâs found one of the many stashed away in his dorm that you have installed in there, itâs only a matter of time before he finds the others. you have to think carefully, if a report isnât put in, heâll eventually learn that youâre behind this, that youâre the one who has been following him, stealing his things, and spying on him through multiple hidden cameras. but if a report does go in, and the police search his dorm more thoroughly, they may find the rest that trace back to you.
by all means, the best course of action is to drop off the camera to the police! then sneak back into his dorm to grab the rest you had hidden and go without seeing dazai 24/7 like you have been. resort to keeping a larger distance between you two while you follow him around the city, contain your erratic heart whenever heâs near you. so far, he hasnât been able to suspect you in the slightest, but it is only a matter of time before he figures it out. you have to maintain your composure. you need to make bumping into him out in public seem more authentic, and you definitely need to make sure you arenât taking anymore of his belongings â since he mentioned as well that his favorite pair of boxers and a sleep shirt is missing :( alongside noting that his used bandages that he could have sworn he threw away were no longer in the trash eitherâŠ
dazai in most circumstances would find this flattering, but only when he knows who is doing it. he hasnât once gotten the thought that his quiet colleague that takes him seriously and hangs out with him during personal free time is the one that is making him look over his shoulder, jump at the slightest of sounds in his dorm, wonder where his stuff is wandering off to, and scour his entire living area for any other potential cameras â thankfully, it was only the one that you so kindly offered to take to the police. which have now started circling the neighborhood, making it even harder for you to follow him home to make sure he got there safely :( i mean, how are you to know if you donât see it with your own two eyes?
it isnât inherently his fault that you became so infatuated with him, wanting to know his whereabouts, hiding a small tracking device in his phone when he wasnât paying attention, knowing just exactly the right way to jimmy the window to let yourself in when he isnât home to help yourself to his things, or that he has kept his guard down around you â deceived by your otherwise calm and charming personality. the only thing somewhat odd thing heâs caught onto about you is that your hands are always shaking when you two speak. âanemic,â you explained once when he brought it up, holding up a small bag of snacks and gesturing to your water bottle on your desk. lucky for you, he bought it. itâs really because youâre doing everything in your power to not pounce him while heâs in front of you.
itâs getting difficult now though for you to continue stalking him, what with dazai being so aware of his surroundings. you just might have to up the ante and take matters into your own hands, invite yourself over to keep him company, to keep him safe from this supposed intruder, to ease his mind, and to get him to quit snooping around into finding out exactly why youâre doing this. itâs because you love him! you love him so much, and he is so nice to you, and he doesnât deserve any of the other people that have tried pursuing his heart! they donât understand him like you do, and youâre the only one who can protect him â even if it means keeping another few centimeters distance on the sidewalk or keeping your shaking hands to yourself or only spending time with him when he approaches you, to invite you over or help himself to your place.
all of these little moments will catch up to the both of you. itâs just the matter now of if you can trap him before he calls you out.
How many people still like TFP? I got this story idea for a Rachet/Soundwave short.
It'll take place after Ratchet gets taken by the Decepticons to finish the Synthetic Energon formula. I'm thinking weird stalker behavior from Soundwave and an unnerved Ratchet who finds it weirdly endearing.
I really should be finishing up my constructiprowl fic before starting a new project, but I've been hit with the TFP beam. đ
something something coop noticing your muse not taking care of themselves so she breaks into their home and stocks their fridge and tidies the place and leaves a gift basket with a card with her name on it so they're only marginally freaked out that someone got in :)))))

Will Graham: I am giving you the opportunity to disappear. I wonât chase you. I donât want to hear from you. I donât want to know where you are or what you do.
Hannibal: Hard pass, I will haunt you.
Will Graham: Ah, fuck. I guess Iâll like, move to Moosonee or something.
Jason breathed through his shattered jaw. His lungs screamed at him. Everything ached. He could barely tell up from down. His vision blurred. The great beyond called out to him, but he willed himself to stay awake.
Batman will be here soon, he knew it, so he rolled over to his stomach and dragged his shattered legs forward. Freedom was only a few feet away.
Move faster, dammit!
He was sure his left shoulder was dislocated but he did his best to ignore the pain. He has to get out so Batman can find him.
Despite the numerous locks on it, Jason still tried to rattle the door open. Of course, it didnât move.Â
His shoulder gave up on him and he face-planted on the cement. He cried when his jaw hit the floor.
He tried to yell, but the pain was too much to even cuss properly.
He took a deep breath, ignoring the swelling in his broken nose and mouth.
In one swift motion, he catapulted himself into a sitting position and leaned against a crate. He needed a momentâ

Present Day,
On a rooftop in Gotham
It was glass-cutting nipples cold tonight.Â
Drake had offered him a suit with smart thermo tech, but heâd be damned if he accepted anything from the twit.Â
Itâs been several months since the failed assassination of his replacement along with his former mentor, but both Tim and Bruce and the rest of the âfamilyâ have been annoyingly accommodating. They agreed on a temporary truce and Jason was allowed to stay in Gotham as an ally. Naturally, he was forced to put his revenge on hold. He still couldnât believe how he let them talk him into it.
âI donât know why I waited so long to pick this up,â Dickhead said, flipping through his library copy of The Scarlet Knight Book 1: One Unfortunate Day. He wanted to borrow Jasonâs, but there was only one other person Jason trusted his books with and that was Alfred. âSheâs not too bad.â
Jason snorted. Understatement of the century. When Talia gave him the collectorâs edition of One Unfortunate Day, he couldnât put it down. He surfed through those 578 pages in a single sitting. However, he couldnât pick up the second novel until he finished training. He devoured books 3 through 18 while he was planning Bruceâs murder. The controversial Book 19 was released around the time he finally confronted shitty dad #2 (and Tim).Â
By now, he has reread each of your books at least twice. Reading your paragraphs relaxed himâŠit was like having a conversation with you again. Your words tuned out all the harsh voices in his head.
âIâm â in but I still havenât read anything about that Wren guy.â
Jason sighed and answered, âThatâs âcause heâs not in that installment.â
âSpoiler alert, dude!â
âYouâre the one who asked.â
âI was whining, not asking! Damn, now this is gonna bug me.â
âGood, because you were starting to bug me.â
âYou used to be so much sweeter.â
âSay that again and Iâll shoot you.â
Dick paused, then grinned. âSwee-ter.â
Jason felt a vein pop. âJust get back to reading. Why canât you ever just read?â Dick was a noisy reader. It wasnât that he read aloud but he liked to provide commentary for every scene.Â
âI canât take it, tell me when Wren appears.â
âWhy? So you can whine more? Not a chance.â
âCome on, just tell me and Iâll shut up.â
Jason seriously doubted that. âFirst of all, why are you so obsessed with Wren?â Wren was well-written, heâll admit that, but Jason didnât understand Dickheadâs unrelenting curiosity for that specific character.
âGuess you havenât heard, but thatâs okay, big brother knows how much you like to brood and avoid social media like a heathenââ
ââfuck youââ
ââApparently, a lot of fans like to do this thing where they âcastâ,â he said, making obnoxious air quotes, âreal life people as actors in a hypothetical live action adaptation and Iâm the fan favorite for Wren.â
Bullshit.
âI know that look and no, itâs not bullshit, little wing. Wren is supposed to be tall, darkâhandsome. And my personal brand of gorgeous is what the readers think about when they picture him.â
âYou do realize that those three adjectives together are the most commonly used description for the ideal guy? And literally every male human that works for Batman fits the criteria. Except Damian.â Give it a couple of more years though and the demon spawn will one hundred percent become another famous bachelor.Â
âStop being such a killjoy.â
âWhatever. Anyway, why are you only starting the series now?â Itâs been years since Wrenâs first appearance.Â
âWell, thatâs âcause the fandomâs louder than ever thanks to the news. I keep getting tagged so much that my phone just crashed.â
âNews?â
Dickhead grinned smugly.Â
âWhat news?â
âYouâre supposed to be her biggest fan and yet youâre always behind.â He clicked his tongue like a disappointed mother.Â
âDonât make me choke it out of you.â
He dropped the playfulness and crossed his arms. âYou seriously donât know?â
âKnow what? Stop screwing around and tell me.â Normally, when Dick started acting like an adult-sized brat, Jason wouldâve disappeared and found himself a different roof, but the topic in hand concerned you so he had the patience to stick around.
âScarlet Knightâs going to be a movie series.â
âI see.â
âThatâs it? No squealing? No exuberant fanboying?â
Jason shrugged and focused on the streets below. Or at least he tried.Â
âTalk about boring,â Dick was still talking, âI expected more. Shouldnât you be proud?â
âI am proudâ left his lip instinctively.
âYou donât sound like it. Dare I say, you look disappointed.â
âForget it.â Jason sighed. âYou can go back and report to daddy now. As you can see, I still havenât broken my promise.â While he had agreed not to kill anyone while in Gotham, trust was delicate. Whether up close or a few gargoyles away, there was always someone monitoring Red Hood every night. Nine times out of ten, it was Nightwing.Â
Nightwing, who was about to say something again before Jason motioned for him to shut up.
They both leaned over the rooftop and watched you stop beside a street lamp.Â
âWhatâs wrong, Peter? Does it still hurt?â You knelt down to inspect the pit bull. âPoor baby. Iâll redo your bandages when we get home okay? Come on, Iâll carry you. Heyâstop licking meâI get it, youâre welcome.â You giggled as you carried the dog into your apartment building.
Dickhead elbowed him. âThis is your chance to talk to her.âÂ
Jason shoved him so hard he fell backwards.Â
âItâs been months since youâve come back, just talk to her.â
âAnd tell her what? âHey, remember me? The dead guy on every dedication page youâve written? Yeah, Iâm not so dead now!ââ
âWellâŠitâs a start.â
âJust shut up, Dick.â
***
âYour tea, Master Bruce.âÂ
âThank you.â
âIâm surprised to see you here. Donât you usually spend the evening out, swinging from building to building?â
âBarbaraâs friend is having a bachelorette party and she asked for the night off.â
The mechanical purring of motorbikes disturbed the peace inside the cave.Â
Already expecting them, Alfred greeted the visitors. âJust in time. The hot cocoa and pretzels are ready.â
Stephanie, Cass and Tim shot up from their bikes and raced towards the food. Damian rolled his eyes, muttering âchildrenâ as he tried to act nonchalant, but his quick strides towards the service trolley betrayed him.
Batman remained seated in front of his computer. It was a slow night and he had convinced the kids to come back for a snack break while the former Robins managed the first shift.Â
His receiver rang and Bruce put his cowl back on. âProgress report.â
âI told you to drop that kinda talk. You can ask normally, you know,â Dick said.
Bruce grumbled and Dick grumbled back.
Capitulating, Bruce asked, âHow is ReâŠHow is Jason?â
âHeâs stable enough. Nothingâs changed with his routine: he follows her around whenever she leaves the house, but once he confirmed that she only ever left twice a day to walk the dog he patrols the rest of the city just as agreed.â
âNoâŠcasualties?â
âNada. Heâs been well-behaved, he doesnât even try to shake me off when he knows Iâm tailing him. Seems like heâs content as long as he can watch over her. You were right, B, sheâs basically his kryptonite.â
It would be more accurate to compare you to a leash, but Bruce kept the comment to himself. âAnything else?â
âI told him I could break into her place while she was out walking the dog. He punched me, like he actually put his back into it.â
âI told you he wouldnât like that.â
âYeah, lesson learned. Anyway, I then offered to follow her so he can go and snoop inside his little authorâs apartment.â
âAnd?â
âHe looked at me like I was trash.â
Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose. âAnd?â
âThatâs it. Weâre just patrolling now.âÂ
âAll right. Good job. Batman out.â
Bruce pulled back the cowl and reclined on his chair.
âWas that Nightwing?â Stephanie spoke with a mouth full of pretzels. âDid Red Hoodie finally snap?âÂ
Tim answered instead: âI doubt it.â
âHow can you be so sure? Didnât he come back to kill you two? How are you so fine with letting that guy run around like this?â
âCall it a hunch,â he muttered, staring down his empty mug. âJason is dangerous, but heâs manageable. We have him on a leash, at least for now.â
Unsatisfied with having her questions answered with riddles, Stephanie threw a half-eaten pretzel at him and the two bickered.Â
Bruce couldnât help but smile.Â
Seems that Tim picked up on it, too.Â
When Jason returned to Gotham alive, Bruce didnât even care about the circumstances, didnât mind that he was led in a wild good chase, he was just glad to have his son back. But Jason wasnât happy. He radiated rage, enough to desire blood. He was dead serious on setting fire to Batman and everyone in his way.Â
But one wordâone name was all it took to disarm him. Jason changed instantly. The anger sloughed off, replaced with uncertainty and longing.Â
Bruce oversaw him undergo gruelling training, witnessed him captured and tortured and killed, and yet he never saw Jason look more vulnerable than when he heard your name again.Â
In the past, he was worried about you and Jason. He originally believed that you two were just really good friends, but there was something deeper there. Darker. You were too close. It wasnât a matter of stupid teenage love versus the meddlesome, conservative fatherârather, he felt that you two bordered on codependent.Â
He recalled a time when Jason fractured his leg from training. Alfred threatened to tie him to the bed but Jason insisted that he was supposed to meet with you at the park. When Bruce told him that you wouldâve stayed home because of the heavy rain, Jason grabbed him by the shoulders and said, âI need to go. Sheâs waiting for me.â He didnât stop crawling out of his bed until Bruce told him he would go and check on you.Â
Bruce drove to the park fully expecting it to be empty. The rain was so extreme, the city was worried about flash flooding. You wouldâve been insane to stay, and yet, Jason was right. You were there, sitting on the swing. Waiting.Â
He hurried to your side with an umbrella and a spare rain coat. When he called out to you, you greeted him with a smile, like it was just any other day and you werenât soaked from head to toe.Â
âGood afternoon, Mister Wayne.â
He didnât waste time and walked you to the car.Â
Once you were settled in, he asked, âWhat were you doing out there?â
âI was waiting for Jason.â
âHow long have you been waiting?â
âWe agreed to meet after lunch soâŠâ You raised your hand and counted on your fingers. âThree hours, I think.â
The rain had been pouring since nine in the morning. âAnd you stayed? You could've just sent him a text and gone home, couldn't you?â
âNo.â
âWhy?â
You tilted your head and blinked innocently. âBecause we promised.â Like it was common sense. Like it was normal.Â
That blind devotion felt like a liability back then, but now Bruce was thankful for it. Now they had the perfect leash.Â

The late afternoon sky was the same sickly yellow bordering on green that reminded him of the distended, bloated flesh of undiscovered corpses, and a part of him found it a rather fitting omen of what was to come. More than just a thunderstorm lurked on the horizon, churning and gathering its might before striking the landscape with fury. These were final days, and time was steadily ticking downâŠ
This world and its way of life were drawing to a gasping death rattle, and Tommy had yet another choice to make. And now he had the free will to consider all his options.
Maybe thatâs what had prompted this compulsive urge to come here, standing bareheaded in the mounting gloom as the encroaching storm rolled ever closer. The breeze lifted strands of his longish hair, tickling his ears and neck as he watched the window that looked in upon Jasonâs bedroom.
âI have to see him⊠If I can just look at him, then Iâll know what Iâm going to do.â
The faint scent of rain reached the teen, the low electric static in the air building and playing across the exposed flesh of his arms. He shuddered but was not deterred from his position amongst the vegetation that bordered one side of yard. Concerns over silly things like lightning were far away at the moment, or it may have been that he was so arrogant that he believed it wouldnât dare.
Tommyâs breath caught in his throat at the subtle movement behind the windowpane. A few light droplets splashed his upturned face, gliding in errant trickles over his angular features yet he barely registered the sensation. Unconsciously, he moved towards the house as if hypnotized, his hazel eyes never leaving that opening into the Red Rangerâs room, one that heâd clandestinely climbed the latticework to look into on more occasions than he could count.
He knew Jason was home, had watched his car pull into the driveway, had tracked the red and white letter jacket as his prey stiffly hobbled up the walk to the front door, the obvious limp breaking the Green Rangerâs fruitless ruminating on what he was considering. Tommy grinned, remembering smashing the other teenâs knee in the heat of their last battle and not letting up on the injured joint the entire confrontation after that.
There was only so much Ranger healing could do with such an onslaught of dedicated trauma in so little time. It was almost like heâd marked Jason and that appealed to him greatly.
Now, Tommy was directly alongside the wall of the home, and the heavy, swell of clouds finally opened up with an ominous crack of thunder that nearly went through him as the deluge consumed him. His cotton tank clung to him, his hair soak and sticking to the skin of his cheeks and back of the neck, as rivulets made chaotic waterfalls from the tip of his freckled nose, his lips, chin, and jaw.
At first blush, a passerby would believe that the pale, sullen teenager looked as ferocious as a bedraggled kitten, nothing like the deadly, evil monster he truly was. He almost looked too soft and pretty to be so demonic. But the thoughts compulsively cycling in that head of hisâŠ.
âAm I going to do it? Really do it, not just fantasize and daydream silly, âwhat-ifâ scenariosâŠâ
He knew the unspoken expectation after all.
As the Red Ranger, Jason was the leader and supposed to die; he was too dangerous to be allowed to live. His death would be a devastating blow to his teammates and the rest of Angel Grove. It was a given that the mouthy smart ass would be killed.
Tommyâs shaky hands found the wooden edgings of the trellis, the toes of his sneakers working into the cross beams as he once more climbed up to the slanted roof just outside the glass. His hands moved one over the other, his feet seeking purchase in the flimsy wood. If not for his slender build, it wouldnât have held him.
Finally, he was hefting himself onto the rough shingles, mindful to move slowly and carefully while sidling closer to the brick beside the painted frame. The Green Ranger strained for any sounds that might be coming from the bedroom, but he could hear nothing over the roar of the rain and its thunder.
âI was too hasty before, too impulsiveâŠI can see that now,â he thought disjointedly to himself. âI didnât have a good enough plan in place.â
Now, Tommy could see that it was fortuitous that Bulk and Skull had interrupted his ill-conceived scheme to abduct Jason at the Youth Center that night, though it still pissed him off and rankled his pride. There were too many holes in his plan with not enough care taken to properly consider the logistics of his underhanded plot.
The whole thing was absurd to think about, yet he hadnât been able to help himself after the conversation heâd had with Scorpina that day in the armoryâŠ
He could feel the roughened wood and its jagged splinters digging into the backs of his thighs through the green silk as he perched sullenly atop the lid of the aged crate. Scrunching his freckled nose in irritation, Tommy squirmed, shifting his lanky physique as he sought a more comfortable position.
Scorpina smirked, casting a quick glance in the Green Rangerâs direction as she worked her blade in long, smooth strokes across the finely grit whetstone. It had taken her some time to become accustomed to the moody child/warrior stalking the corridors of the lunar palace, but sheâd grown rather fond of Tommy to her surprise. Perhaps it was because the boy had started shadowing her, peppering her with questions about her life, how she had risen through the ranks and gained her infamy, and how the intricacies of the alien social hierarchy worked.
When the pale, surly teen descended into the chilly armory that day, the petite woman was curious what topic Tommy would desire to discuss as she slicked her sword to razor sharpness.
âSo,â he mused, casually, âI noticed that you and Goldar have several enslavedâŠuh⊠âcreaturesâ. Is that customary in this new alien society that will be taking shape on Earth?â
Scorpina smirked, her full red lips twitching in amusement. She continued the work to her weapon, periodically testing the deadly edge with the careful touch of a slender finger, as she began explaining the retinue of beings that lived at her and Goldarâs feet.
âThe status of a captive is very important to note,â she advised, turning the sword to and fro beneath the light. âItâs desirable to possess those having a higher rank as serves as a boon to their masterâs reputation. So, that means individuals from royalty or nobility, heads of state, or other ruling classes, those with wealth and prestige, defeated leaders of merit from their armies, those with valuable skills or talentsâŠâ
Tommyâs cheek twitched as he gnawed at the inner lining, a nasty habit he couldnât seem to shake and resulted in a flood of coppery-tasting saliva mixed with saliva. He resorted to such behavior when deep in thought, anxious, or preparing to unleash a torrent of rage.
The boy didnât have to feign interest in this conversation, one heâd gradually been working up to over the past few months, though it was useful to discover certain information that would aid in further developing his ascension into power. He listened intently to Scorpinaâs response with wide hazel eyes, his teeth unconsciously worrying faster at the delicate flesh between them.
âHaving such powerful captives serving you before your peers is something to take great pride in,â she continued. âShowing them off at grand galas and banquets, seeing your rivals admire them and become envious⊠Itâs almost unheard of to be able to purchase them at any price.â
Tommy was not concerned with parading Jason about, in fact, the Green Ranger didnât want to share him at all. And he certainly didnât want Goldar to land a lucky blow and finally claim the other teenâs life. Ritaâs reinforcements were nearly ready, and he was running out of time, given that there were no guarantees on the battlefield.
Especially with a fighter as foolishly bullheaded and stubborn as the Red Ranger, who was also a high-level target for any of the fiendish monsters.
Scorpina paused, lifting an arched brow at the childâs captivated face, his eyes scarcely blinking as he drank it all in.
âWhy are you so interested in the matter of captives, Tommy? Youâre not ready for such a responsibility,â she demanded sternly. âYou might be Ritaâs Green Ranger but youâre a kid just like the others.â
He flinched slightly at being called out, before giving an indignant retort.
âIâm 17! Iâm not a child!â
The woman grinned, crossing her arms over her chest as she studied Tommyâs puffed-up posture.
âComparatively speaking, youâre an infant,â she advised with a crisp nod. âHow do you know how to manage potentially dangerous prisoners? You donât have the experience or the fearsome reputation to make them behave, to keep them from plotting against you or Rita, to prevent them from escaping⊠You have no knowledge of how to train one, let alone how to break it down enough to give in and accept its fate.â
Tommy leapt from the crate like an angry feline.
âYou have no idea what I know how to do!â
But Scorpina waved him off.
âEasy, Green. Save it for later. Besides, I donât think you understand how it works,â she giggled. âYou donât just get your pick of the litter. Whether or not to gift a warrior with a captive is at the discretion of their ruler. Itâs a badge of honor, a reward for their feats during battle and their accomplishments under their service.â
The teen huffed angrily.
âSo, besting the Rangers wouldnât earn me such a trinket? Not even Goldar has been able to defeat them, and here I am, terrorizing the whole team! I came closer to taking them down before I lost the Sword of Darkness than that overgrown ape ever has!â
Scorpina didnât take kindly to this human disparaging her mate so rudely. But it got her thinking. She planted her fists on her hips, a knowing look on her face.
âYou want one of them, donât you, kid? A little pet Ranger of your own?â she cooed. âLet me guess⊠Youâre moony-eyed over that perky Pink bitch. Or perhaps Yellow is more appealing to you?â
Now, it all made sense. Human males, especially those in their teens, were overly hormonal and seeking to sow their seed. Tommy wanted to ensure a plaything for his bedchambersâŠ
The Green Ranger stared at her a moment in confusion. And guilt.
Scorpina was only partly correct in her assessment, but he wasnât about to make any confessions.
âWhy do you care?â he sassed. âWhat if I do want a Ranger for myself? So what? And who are you to say I havenât earned the right to possess one.â
The smaller warrior shook her head, her long hair brushing her waist.
âPlease donât tell me youâve made the classic villain mistake and fallen in love with your enemy⊠Because you can fuck the shit out of either of those bitches then dispose of them. Keeping them as a captive isnât necessary for that.â
Tommyâs expression was offended, echoes of his deceased drunken âfatherâsâ homophobic ranting whispering through his memory.
âLove? No! It has nothing to do with what I want.â
And heâd meant that when he said it. He started to delve into his desire for ultimate control, to become someoneâs entire world, their very life contingent upon his whims, but Scorpina interrupted him.
âGood, childâŠbecause what you want doesnât matter. Itâs about our Empress and her desires. That was the choice you made when you returned to her side of your own free will. You donât get to make decisions or give orders when youâre still wet behind the ears.â
She turned to exit the armory.
âYour loyalty is to Rita, not your grandiose ego. Sheâs the ruler and youâre not. Remember thatâŠâ
Tommy had been incensedâŠpanickedâŠcompulsively rash. Heâd cobbled together some half-assed plan to take Jason that very night, to blitz attack him when he exited the Youth Center, to jab his whorish âmotherâsâ taser into his neck and make him ride the lightning until he was too confused and drooling all over himself to avoid the sturdy zip ties. Then, the Green Ranger had decided heâd shove the jackass into the trunk of his car and drive out to the lakeside cabin his âuncleâ kept, one that the teen had broken into a number of times to hide out.
If he just kept Jason there, safely out of battle, drugged up in a fuzzy twilight that rendered him nice and docileâŠif he pretended as if he knew nothing about the Red Rangerâs unexpected disappearance in the midst of intergalactic warâŠif he LIED to his Empress about his knowledge of eventsâŠand continued to do so for the foreseeable futureâŠ
As if Rita couldnât peer down from her palace as she often did and locate his captive in Tommyâs possessionâŠ.
The boy shook his head firmly, amazed by his foolishness.
âNo, that would never have worked⊠My Empress shouldnât have the need to look for him. He canât just up and vanish. It will require some sleight of handâŠand I know nothingâs certain on the battlefield.â
Tommy risked peeking around the white frame to peer into Jasonâs bedroom. His pulse quickened when he saw the Red Rangerâs broad back hunched over as he sat on the side of his bed, his arm lifted to his moving lips.
âIt appears Iâve made my choice. At least in this regard. I can still serve my Empress loyally even if I keep Jason for myself. If I seize his coin, keep him doped up and pliant, heâll be helpless do anything more than cry for meâŠbleed for me⊠Beg meâŠâ
This one little vice of his didnât mean he was being treasonous. He wasnât asking for hundreds of captives. Just this oneâŠ
The teen smiled.
âIâll get to him first, thatâs all. Make sure Iâm the one who challenges him. Then, when all eyes are busy, heâll âdieâ for me.â
