It has been quite a long time, so I figured I should re-design my Gijinka Starters from my Yellow Version; behold Sparky, Shellshock, Charmer, and Bough (like a tree branch, pronounced like “ take a bow”). Sparky was never a Pichu, but for fun I imagined him as the baby-form. For the color-ref I included the blushy-shade of his cheeks, as a Pikachu he has an under-color of black, and as a Raichu most of his hair is dark with the ends a more golden color. He was actually pretty small compared to my other Raichu, so he’s short (but has muscles since he became such a tank in battles) with a baby-face
Shellshock was the Squirtle I got in Yellow, and later I found that he had a Gentle Nature, so I’ve always pictured him as just being the cutest and sweetest guy 9even when he’s a big ‘ol Blastoise). As a Squirtle his hair is curly and rounds-out his head, then he grows it out as a Wartortle (with the ends getting color-tips), and finally as a Blastoise he has a fade with the curls at the top (just a hit of a golden color to them). Turned out to be my biggest Balstoise once size charts were a thing in the games
Charmer was my Charmander in Yellow. I always imagined him being kinda tall and lanky (later on he’s a little angular as a Charizard). I gave him the vague punk-vibe, but don’t be fooled; he’s a softy. For whatever reason, he turned out to be extra fast without even giving him any Carbos, so he could handle Pokemon he had a type disadvantage against just because he hit first
Bough was my Bulbasaur in Yellow, and he’s changed the most when it comes to the Gijinka design. It used to be really plain and boring, but I finally got it somewhere decent. He’s got some color-ref to show the vitiligo spots (plus for the scarf I gave him as an Ivysaur; it is a green and pink camo-pattern). As a Venasaur, he’s has entered “Florida Dad” mode, with long hair that has green and pink streaks, some of it pulled back into a bun (also some kinda beard, I don’t even know). He also had a pretty high speed stat despite being such a big guy
