Deceit is obviously warmblooded, because otherwise his body wouldn't be able to function. Well, maybe if he had two hearts, but why would he willingly change the inner workings of his body to be coldblooded?

Being warmblooded does not in any way stop him from running cold. He wears long sleeves and layers, trying to trap his bodyheat.

He knows that people joke that they're coldblooded when they run cold, so it shouldn't be a surprise when he makes the same joke one especially chilly day.

Except everyone kind of freeze and looks at him and suddenly he's in the middle of a cuddle pile and everyone is concerned for his wellbeing

Deceit knows that real snakes are coldblooded, he just expected the others to be smarter than this. Especially Logan. If he had been coldblooded for real, then surely the others would have known before they turned 30 years old

Roman and Deceit are Theatre and Remy and Deceit are Gossip and Roman and Remy are Soap Operas

Roman was the first one to recite a love poem, then Dee got in on it because Aesthetic, and Remy was like "they're too pure?" and started reciting stuff just to see his boyfriends get flustered

so I don’t really ship it, but I do have an idea.

Deceit has admittedly spent a lot of time with Patton lately; they share an interest in cooking, and the moral side could make for a decent debate partner at times. Patton had also started inviting him to group activities, such as movie nights. But looking back at it, he’s unsure where the misunderstanding started.

Because it must be a misunderstanding. He and Patton had just been having dinner, and then a ring had been presented to him. Deceit might have a different tradition, but the meaning of a ring is still very clear. It’s in every romantic movie and book; it’s a social construct that he abhors. Even if their relationship was like that, he wouldn’t accept a proposal with a ring.

The fact that their relationship isn’t like that - never has been from his point of view - makes the situation so much more awkward. They’ve never kissed or had any discussions about their relationship. In all honesty, Patton is being awfully presumptuous.

“I just love to disappoint,” Deceit says, his tone carefully neutral. “But I can’t accept this.”

“Why not?” Patton asks, his big blue eyes shining behind his glasses.

“Why not?” Deceit repeats, absolutely perplexed. “We’re not together, Patton. I consider you a friend, at most.”

“But I thought-”

“I think I should take my leave,” Deceit interrupts. Talks about emotions have never been his strong suit, and he feels awfully out of his depth. “Whatever I did to lead you on, I didn’t mean it.”
