My heart broke when I saw Trinity's scars in the bathroom scene. The showrunners are clearly running her character through the wringer. It's clear she's been abused, more than likely by a father figure; she struggles with letting people in; the scars on her thighs from cutting; her position being threatened because she's behind on charting; and Garcia rejecting her when she asks her to come over. I'd also like to speculate that maybe she was close to someone with addiction, because she clocked Langdon so fast last season when no one else saw the signs.

I think that one of the main reasons I tend to find most TCW-era SW fix-its unfulfilling (even the ones I've written! this is not a criticism of anyone specifically!) is because they largely or completely ignore the politics that brought about the war in the first place. There's either a vague handwave about things getting better Out In the Colonies Outer Rim or an offhand mention of negotiations, but almost never an actual wrestling with what the politics of the war mean. Even fics with nominally Sith-aligned main characters don't pay much attention to the absolutely valid reasons that the Separatists had to want to leave the Republic. Yeah, the whole movement was corrupt and actively corrupted by monied interests taking control of it, but canon goes out of its way to set Dooku up as someone traveling the Rim giving speeches and expressing sentiments that the people who lived there already had.
