Ozqrow:

Who would be the big spoon? They don’t spoon so much as Ozpin tosses and turns and ends up using Qrow as a giant body pillow, but Qrow is big spoon when they manage it

Who would wake up first? Ozpin wakes up at ungodly hours - he has a school to run and evil plans to thwart, after all

Do they have nicknames for each other? ‘Oz’,’dusty old crow’.

What happened when they met each other’s parents? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAaaaaa never happened. Which is good. It’d be a bloodbath either way.

How do they apologise after an argument? Evasion. Neither of them have healthy coping skills, so apologies come in the form of shared drinks and quiet apologies that get brushed aside quickly in favor of something much more physical.

What would they be like as parents? Qrow’s got pretty decent parental skills - he helped raise Ruby and Yang, after all - though he’s pretty lackadaisical about it. Ozpin would have trouble. He’s great at giving advice and talking, but he’s pretty terrible at actually letting people in.

Who is the better cook? They’re even! Qrow’s great at cooking breakfast items like omelets and french toast, while Ozpin takes pride in making simple things- rustic breads, stews, and soups from his youth.

Who is more romantic? LOL what is romance

What sort of gifts do they get for each other? Qrow lives up to his namesake by bringing Oz shiny little trinkets he picks up on his travels. Ozpin’s practical - he gets Qrow things like weapon and travel supplies, or arranges for him to have nicer places to stay when he’s on missions. 

Who gets jealous easiest? Ozpin, actually. Because of his position he’s rarely away from Beacon, while Qrow is all over Remnant, and that causes some insecurity.

Who gets more excited for events e.g.. Birthdays, Christmas? Neither? Neither do birthdays due to... reasons..., and the holidays that are similar, Solstice or whatnot, Qrow spends many of those with his family in Patch. 

Who is the most adventurous? Qrow, definitely.

Who is the most protective? Also Qrow, though only by a very narrow margin.

What would they have been like as childhood sweethearts? Oh God,they would have been fucking adorable - the arrogant punk birb and his shy bookworm boyfriend? SIGN ME UP.

Spirigami:

Who would be the big spoon? Shinigami. He’s a seven-foot-tall death god and Spirit’s essentially a living heating pad.

Who would wake up first? Shinigami. He doesn’t even need to sleep, not very often, and with the DWMA he has to be up early anyway.

Do they have nicknames for each other? Not really. Spirit will call Shinigami ’old man’ now and then, but that’s more to tease than anything.

What happened when they met each other’s parents? Well, Shinigami liked Spirit’s parents well enough, and was sad to usher them off into the afterlife. Who the hell knows if Shinigami had parents?

How do they apologise after an argument? Once Spirit’s head stops aching from the Reaper Chop he’s earned... makeup sex is a pretty popular way to make amends.

What would they be like as parents? They’re both parents! Spirit is... well, he’s not the best father ever, but he has a lot of heart. Shinigami’s a good father, but a bit too distant. Together, though, they’d make a great team.

Who is the better cook? Shinigami! Cooking is one of his hobbies, especially more exotic and fancy dishes. Andhe makes the best filet mignon.

Who is more romantic? Spirit is a giant ball of mush at heart. He lives for grand gestures - granted, he’s never quite figured out that sometimes the actions don’t mean that much, but he tries.

What sort of gifts do they get for each other? Spirit gives chocolate and booze and backrubs, which are the best; Shinigami’s gifts are either understated things like days off or an extra cookie after dinner, or hugely overblown like 24kt goldcufflinks studded with meteorite shards and black diamonds.

Who gets jealous easiest? Shinigami seems chill, but holy SHIT the man gets jealous so easily, which doesn’t help when his lover is the biggest flirt on earth

Who gets more excited for events e.g.. Birthdays, Christmas? Spirit loves holidays with all his heart; he’s like a giant puppy with all his enthusiasm.

Who is the most adventurous? Shinigami! Because he’s a god,and practically indestructible (and also stir-crazy from being trapped in one place for 800+ years), he’s always up for something new.

Who is the most protective? Shinigami will kill you if you look at Spirit the wrong way

What would they have been like as childhood sweethearts? Serious bookworm nerds supporting each other? Gives me life, omg

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon

Shinigami once tried to teach Spirit to play the mandolin. It didn’t work out. :)

On an unrelated note, Spirit has an unhealthy obsession with bad foreign soap operas. He’ll be marathoning them on the couch with wine and ice cream all night if no one’s around to stop him, and it is downright hilarious how genuinely emotional he’ll get over every little dramatic moment, no matter how stupid it is. Kami used to just roll her eyes at his hysterics, then throw him over her shoulder and carry him to bed (usually saying something about how he’s going to ruin his eyes and he can’t stay up all night because they have to work tomorrow), but Shinigami finds it fascinating. Even so, he doesn’t understand the plot of the shows or Spirit’s obsession any more than Kami did, even after spending a night watching several dozen episodes in the manor’s TV room with Spirit. 

♒ - cooking/food headcanon

Shinigami cannot cook. Like, at all - about the only thing he can successfully do is brew his tea. Leaving aside the fact that it’s difficult for him to handle anything in the kitchen with those big-ass hands, his species doesn’t need food to survive and when they eat or drink, they’re just doing it for pleasure. Shinigami doesn’t take pleasure in too many food items, so he has no experience making anything. Spirit, on the other hand, loves to eat - a heavy meal is one of his favorite things ever. On remembering this, Shinigami decided to cook a bunch of Spirit’s favorite foods to surprise him, but took on too much at once, too fast, without knowing how to handle it, and almost burned the kitchen down. (The day was saved by Liz and her trusty fire extinguisher.) When Spirit found out, he thought it was both sweet and hilarious, and said that he would be happy to settle for takeout until Shinigami got in a little more practice. 

♡ - romantic headcanon

(Sorry this is late, I’ve been on mobile for a while!)

When Kamiko first found out that her ex-husband had not only managed to find himself a committed relationship, but one with a physical god, of all people, naturally she had a lot of questions, one of which had been, “So how did this whole thing first happen, anyway? Did you flirt with him at work or did he ask you out for drinks, or something?”

Spirit hesitated for a second, then decided to fall back on something funny to distract her from that; a winning smile and a play on her old nickname for their boss would probably do the trick. “Well, let me put it this way: remember all those times you told me to go fuck a cactus?”

He didn’t get any further than that before the lightest dope slap that Kami was capable of giving hit the back of his head. “Baka yarou, I didn’t need to know details like that!”

He laughed, but the truth was, he wasn’t exactly sure how to properly answer. One of the first things he had learned about his new relationship was that in many ways, it was the polar opposite of his last. He’d been all over Kami during every stage of their relationship (even if the gestures felt considerably emptier in the last few years of it than they had in the former), never missing an opportunity to drape his arms around her, play with her hair, run his lips up and down her neck, anything like that. And he certainly didn’t love Shinigami any less than he had loved Kami, but not feeling the need to be constantly, openly affectionate in order to prove that love was a nice change, he had to admit. 

Shinigami appeared to share the sentiment. The way he had grown to feel about his Death Scythe didn’t change how they interacted with each other at work, or in each other’s homes. And all for the best, anyway, Spirit had thought to himself once: it would be a little more difficult for him to kiss a hard wooden mask or hold a hand as big as his head. That wasn’t any problem at all for either of them.

Especially since they more than made up for it after the sun went down. 

On one such night, as he sat on the foot of Shinigami’s bed (which was truly ridiculously big, in his opinion, especially for a being that didn’t require much sleep to function, but who was he to complain?) and watched his partner undress, it occurred to Spirit that he had never seen the other’s uncovered body in the daylight before, only illuminated by the weaker light of lamps and candles if they chose to have any light at all. But that didn’t matter much to him, even in darkness like this: by now, he had practically memorized every last part of that divinely beautiful body.

His eyes ran up the long, slender legs hugged tightly by thin black fabric, over the smooth skin and lean muscles of the arms and torso (newly exposed as Shinigami shrugged off his cloak and let it pool at his bare feet), up to his already-unmasked face, and felt his heart begin to beat just a bit harder as he did. He thought that as long as he lived, he would never get tired of looking at that face: diamond-shaped and angular, framed by thick black and white hair that fell to just above his shoulders, with golden eyes that glowed softly in the dark like a cat’s and thin lips that curved into a smile as his eyes locked with Spirit’s. 

“You look excited,” he said, reverting to his original voice, as he cleared the short distance between himself and Spirit. He set one knee up on the bed beside the other’s leg, placed one hand on each of the other man’s equally bare shoulders, and gently pushed him down onto his back. “I take it you’re ready, then?” he murmured, tracing the waistband of his partner’s pants with one long finger, sending a shiver of excitement down his spine.

Spirit smiled. “Hell, yeah.”

Who steals the whole fucking blanket in the middle of the night and leaves the other without any? Shinigami doesn’t so much steal the blankets as he does just takes them all, then rolls over onto Spirit and squishes him because mmm, warm and snuggly boyfriend. (Spirit has come to terms with becoming a human pancake.There are advantages to being a pillow, especially in the mornings~)

Which one is always stubbing their toe and screaming about it? Spirit whines like a baby when he stubs his toe (and he does it all the time in the manor, the klutz). Death does so rarely but when he does he SWEARS LIKE A SAILOR MOTHER OF GOD SHINIGAMI HAS A FILTHY MOUTH

Who crashed a car and made the other pick them up at 3AM? Spirit crashed Shinigami’s favorite Lamborghini one night and Shinigami picked him up... and then left his ass on the highest rooftop in Death City because he wrecked his favorite car

Which one is the lightweight that needs to be watched over at all costs? Spirit holds his booze well but Shinigami cannot get drunk AT ALL, so he’s always the one stuck babysitting and getting jealous of the fact that he can’t get buzzed :(

Which one likes to get up in the middle of the night and (loudly) make themselves a snack? SHINIGAMI BAKES COOKIES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and then has to cram them all in his face before Spirit and Kid and the Thompson sisters come down demanding their share. There have been chases around the Manor at 2AM just to get fresh chocolate-chip cookies because Shinigami doesn’t like to share his nighttime snacks

Who is always suggesting they get another pet? They have children, they don’t need pets

Who drinks straight up black coffee and teases the other for their overly-flavored Starbucks? Spirit drinks his straight, but Shinigami demands his mint mocha latte frappuccino with extra whipped cream and a pump of hazelnut and chocolate sauce on top. (It’s the opposite with tea- Shinigami takes his tea straight but Spirit likes his with milk and sugar, the heathen.)

Which one insists upon buying unheard-of health foods? KID BUYS RIDONKULOUS HEALTH FOOD AND TRIES TO MAKE SHINIGAMI AND SPIRIT AND THE GIRLS EAT IT and Liz plays a long but Patti and Spirit and Shinigami just suffer and pretend and then go get a pizza later

Which one would run through a busy street just to pet a small dog? Spirit is a nerd who loves cute things (Shinigami would but animals don’t like him much....)
