Spirigami has taken over my liiiiiiife
Who is the most affectionate? Spirit. He has proclaimed his adoration for Kami from the damn rooftops. Literally.Â
Big spoon/Little spoon? Kami is big spoon! Spirit has a big thing for feeling safe and protected, and even though Kami is smaller than he is, just being enveloped by someone is wonderful for him.Â
Most common argument? MAKA MAKA MAKA. Kami wasnât very affectionate to her, and so Spirit always brings up the âCanât you try harder? For her sake? Canât you be more loving?â and Kami is downright cruel when she snaps back at Spirit that he loves enough people for both of them.Â
Favorite non-sexual activity? Back when things were still good for them, they actually really loved baking cookies together and watching a movie.
Who is most likely to carry the other? Kami literally carried Spirit around all the time.Â
Nicknames? âMamaâ, âCasanovaâ (okay, so that oneâs sarcastic, but w/e)
Who worries the most? Spirit. Spirit worries about everything. He worries about the divorce, he worries about his marriage, he worries about Maka, he worries about Kami
Who tops? 50/50 with them. Spirit isnât going to complain when Kami is feeling more like being in control, likewise, heâs fine with being on top, too
Who initiates kisses? Spirit. He is KING of kisses. Kami is less affectionate
Who wakes up first? Kami used to wake up at 5 am on the dot, even when she was pregnant, to do training sequences while Spirit slept the day away
Who says I love you first? It was Spirit and it was on the second date. Kami was freaked out

How about for the Meme: Kid and Crona, Spirit and Kami, Death and Spirit?
Send me ships and Iâll tell you:
Kid and Crona
who the fuck put the peeps in the microwave:
Neither of them - Patty and Ragnarok teamed up.Â
who forgot to put the cat outside before sex:
Crona. They invited Kid over to the apartment when Soul and Maka were away on a mission, but forgot about Blair.
who posts vines of the other doing embarrassing shit:
Crona, by virtue of Kid doing
infinitely
more embarrassing shit.
who breaks the most phones:
Kid. He tends to throw them if they happen to be in his hand during one of his freakouts.
who dies first:
NEITHER THEYâRE BOTH IMMORTAL - wait, come to think of it, at some point Kid is going to end up budding off a mini-Kid and dying when they come into their full powerâŚand Crona is basically indestructible between their inherited immortality (headcanon that about a third of all half-witches are immortal, whether they have powers or not) and their black bloodâŚI made myself sad.
which one I could see as being lactose intolerant:
Kid.
who thinks they can do something really well even though they canât:
Probably Kid. There have to be at least a few skateboard tricks they canât pull off.
who is more likely to get kicked out of the bed:
Neither of them, probably.
who uses the computer most:
Crona. They watch a lot of puppy videos.
Spirit and Kami
who the fuck put the peeps in the microwave:
Spirit. Kami wants to be angry, but sheâs fascinated by seeing things explode.Â
who forgot to put the cat outside before sex:
Spirit forgot to close the curtains on Blair.Â
who posts vines of the other doing embarrassing shit:
Kami. Spirit posts vines of all her fights/rage mode explosions.
who breaks the most phones:
KAMI. She alternates between crushing them to dust in her hand and launching them at peopleâs (usually Steinâs or Spiritâs) heads.
who dies first:
âŚI could see Kami dying first, in battle.
which one I could see as being lactose intolerant:
Kami. Itâs one of the sources of her rage.
who thinks they can do something really well even though they canât:
Spirit. This is usually where Kami gets the embarrassing vines from.
who is more likely to get kicked out of the bed:
Spirit, definitely.
who uses the computer most:
Probably Spirit.
Spirit and Death
who the fuck put the peeps in the microwave:
Spirit. Shinigami is much less amused than Kami.
who forgot to put the cat outside before sex:
Neither of them even thought they had to, but Blair can climb the walls all the way up to the top floor windows.
who posts vines of the other doing embarrassing shit:
Shinigami. Spirit posts vines of Shinigami playing the mandolin, but itâs not the same.
who breaks the most phones:
Shinigami, with those big ass hands.
who dies first:
Spirit, being human and mortal and all.
which one I could see as being lactose intolerant:
Spirit. Come to think of it, could Shinigami even
be
lactose intolerant?
who thinks they can do something really well even though they canât:
Spirit. Shinigami is determined to beat Kamiâs vine record.Â
who is more likely to get kicked out of the bed:
Spirit. I donât know if Spirit would be able to kick a god out of his own bed.
who uses the computer most:
Spirit. Shinigamiâs hands are too big for him to use the keyboard or mouse.
Summary:Â When Kami hears that her best friend has started dating the boy who used Spirit as a lab rat for years, she takes it upon herself to warn him of what will happen if he ever hurts her, but fails to anticipate the consequences.Â

When Arashi Kamiko had woken up that morning and gone out for some early training, the absolute last thing she had expected was to be ambushed in the woods and thrown through a tree by her best friend.
Though, in hindsight, she probably should have seen it coming a mile away. The only one she knew who could be a more violently protective girlfriend than her was Marie Mjolnir.
As she picked herself up from the wreck her flying body had made of the poor tree, her back and arms smarting and stuck with splinters, Kami briefly entertained the thought that maybe she had overreacted somewhat yesterday. Maybe she shouldnât have acted on her first impulse when sheâd found out that Marie had not only become the new weapon partner of the boy whoâd happily sliced up his old one, but started dating him as well. Maybe it hadnât been as necessary as sheâd thought to corner said boy and give him a taste of what she would do if he dared try the same thing again. Maybe she hadnât had to break quite as many bones as she had. But when she looked up to see the weapon in question stalking towards her, sparks of fury in her eyes, all those notions went right out the window.
Beating the shit out of Stein hadnât been her mistake. Her mistake had been not preparing for when Marie inevitably found out about it.
âI know what you did, Kami!â she shouted across the clearing. âDonât try to deny it! Why the hell would you hurt Stein like that?!â
You really canât take a guess? Kami thought bitterly, narrowing her eyes. âIt was nothing Sawbones didnât have coming. I didnât hurt him half as much as he hurt Spirit.â
âHe told the nurse heâd been attacked by a Kishin egg and she believed him! How can you say that he deserved that?!â
Easily, she wanted to say, but such a flippant answer would probably get her head knocked off. And a careless tone wouldnât do a thing to convince her friend of how deadly serious this really was. âI didnât have much of a choice, it was either do this or do nothing. And I had to warn him whatâll happen if he hurts you somehow! He doesnât care about anyone elseâs feelings, just himself - so the only way to make him understand was to beat it into him!â
Marie was clearly not willing to accept her perfectly sound reasoning. He advance did not slow in the slightest, and Kami recognized the look on her face: it was the one she always wore whenever she was about to let loose completely on some poor fool whoâd pushed her too far. âYou donât know him well enough to be as sure about that as you think you are. You donât even try to,â she snarled. âSo Iâm only going to ask you this once: can you leave this alone and let me handle it myself?â
Kami tensed, readying herself for the full-blown fight her answer would ignite. Better to be honest and dig herself deeper into trouble, than to lie and let Marie keep seeing her bastard boyfriend through whatever rose-tinted glasses were permanently stuck on her face. âI could. But like hell Iâm going to.â
She almost didnât see the attack coming. All of a sudden, Marie was gone and there was a gold and black blur barreling towards her, and she very nearly couldnât sidestep in time to avoid the fist that came flying at her head. âSo what, youâre saying you would do something like this again?! What if you go too far next time? What if you do something Stein canât bounce back from?â
âWhat if I go too far? He already has!â Kami cried, raising her arms defensively. âHe spent five years straight using Spirit like a lab rat, and I wonât let him use you too!â
âHe wonât! Iâm sure of it! Why canât you ever listen to anyone? You just always have to be right, donât you?â
âI am right about this! Itâs you who wonât listen, because you care more about that freak than you do about your own friends!â
Marie froze. At the stunned and hurt look on her face, Kamiâs stomach dropped. Oh, fuck. That was definitely going too far. But before she could take it back, the rage in the weaponâs eyes surged back with a vengeance, washing away all hesitation, and she lunged at Kami again.
This time Kami couldnât dodge in time, and all she could do was block as fast as she could the barrage of punches forcing her backward, each one punctuated by an angry word. âI am sick - and tired - of hearing people - calling Stein a freak - or a psycho - or a monster - or any of those awful things!â
âThey - !â It was taking all of Kamiâs concentration to avoid having her skull bashed in, and she was certain that her forearms would be black and blue tomorrow from all the punishment they were taking. Goddamn Viking berserker rage. But still, she had never been one to back down on anything before, and she sure as hell wasnât going to start now. âThey only say those things because theyâre true! Maybe not completely, maybe, but still - !â
âTheyâre not true! He tries so hard - to be good - but the more he hears all that - the more he believes it - and itâs all so wrong! If he really was that bad - he wouldnât try this hard - but he still does!â
âBullshit he does!â Kami shrieked, shriller than sheâd intended. Sheâd had enough of this, absolutely enough! In the same motion as her next block, she dropped down and swept Marieâs legs out from under her, sending the younger girl crashing hard to the ground. âHe does whatever horrible shit he feels like doing and and thinks nothing of it! He doesnât care that he hurt Spirit and he wonât care when he hurts you! Why canât you get it through your head that heâs dangerous!â
âHeâs not! He would never hurt me! Just because you hate him doesnât make him a bad person!â
âThis isnât about me! Iâm worried about you! Â âHe does bad things but heâs not a bad person,â âoh, you just donât know him like I do,â excusing every last thing heâs ever done...You probably think he needs you, donât you, or that if you just stick by him heâll magically change into a better person? Youâre quoting right out of the battered girlfriendâs handbook and you donât even realize it!â
âWhat?!â Marie scrambled to her feet, brushing the dirt off her scraped arm as Kami plowed on.
âYou heard me! I donât know why you try to protect someone like him, because heâs not worth that! But you are, so I wonât stop trying to protect you from him even if you donât want me to!â
âI donât need you to! Iâm not in any danger! I can protect myself and my partner just fine on my own. Youâre not my meister anymore, Kami, so stop acting like it!â
Okay, that stung. Kami grit her teeth and clenched her fists tighter, reminding herself that she would lose all hope of being taken seriously if she couldnât keep a tighter hold on her temper, but that didnât stop the heat from building up in her gut. It had been her who had insisted on the change in partners, but what else was she supposed to have done, after sheâd found out how Stein had been abusing the trust of his weapon? She couldnât not do everything she could to protect her boyfriend and help him heal, and it was because of that that she also couldnât regret switching out Marie for Spirit. But Marie had said that she understood, had even gently urged her to do it...Was this why? So she could start cozying up to Doctor fucking Sawbones? It didnât matter, either way.
âIâm not your meister, but Iâm still your friend!â she shouted, taking on an attack stance. âAnd itâs my job to knock some sense into you one way or another!â
âDonât you know how to solve anything without a fight?! Is that really how you think?â Marie shot back, drawing back her fist too. âI wonât let you - â
âI wonât let him -Â â
The punches flew -
â - hurt him again!â
â - hurt you, ever!â
It felt less like being hit and more like having a brick launched straight into her face. Kami was knocked back clear across the grass, rolling over the earth and rocks until she finally skidded to a stop about thirty feet away. For a minute, she lay there completely dazed, staring at the spinning blur of green and blue around her, unable to form a coherent thought or do anything more than twitch. Then, growing steadily louder over the ringing in her ears, she heard someoneâs voice, closer and clearer every second.
âKami? Kamiko! Are you all right?!â
Five of her friendâs faces, wide-eyed and worried, spun above her face for a moment until they returned back to one. Kami gave her a shaky smile that she hoped looked reassuring, with whatever condition her throbbing face was in. âNice shot, Marie...Guess you win.â Why did it feel like her nose was stopped up by something?
âWhoâs talking about winning or losing? This was so stupid, Iâm so sorry, come here...â She reached down to Kami, who took the offered hand and let herself be helped to her feet.
âIâm sorry too.â She noticed the thick cut across the other girlâs cheek, and immediately felt like a bitch. âHow bad did I get you?â
âIâll probably be pretty sore for a while,â Marie admitted, rolling her shoulder. âBut not too bad.â Kami looked behind her at the tree with a new, body-sized hole in its trunk and wasnât too sure about that, but decided not to press the point. âBesides, Iâve got no room to complain. I...think I may have broken your nose.â
âOh?â Kami reached up and lightly touched her nose, and immediately jerked back as if stung, her fingertips coming away bloody. Yeah, thatâs more smashed than Spirit on a Friday night. âWell, weâve both had worse, havenât we?â
Marie was nowhere near as nonchalant about it as Kami was. âListen...We shouldnât be fighting like this. Iâm really sorry,â she said, taking Kamiâs hand and carefully pulling a splinter out of her palm as she spoke. âDo you want to go up to the infirmary, get ourselves fixed up, and try to just talk all this out on the way?â
Kami sighed. The idea didnât excite her - diplomacy had never been her strong suit, hard and fast action was her way - but it wasnât as if she had another choice. Plan A had, apparently, completely fallen through. âYeah, that sounds good. Weâll just say we had training match that got a little out of hand. Thatâs not really a lie, is it?â
âI guess not.â
Despite the agreement to talk, the two were silent for a few minutes as they made their way back out of the woods, until Kami tentatively spoke up. âAll right...Maybe I went a bit too far with Sawbones yesterday. And I...I promise I wonât do that again,â she forced out from between clenched teeth, hoping that that was enough. She meant every word of what she said, but no way was she going to lie and say she was actually sorry.
âIâd warn you that Iâll hold you to that, but I donât think I need to. I know youâll always keep your word. And I wonât do anything like this again, either, I know I overreacted - â
âNo, you didnât. Iâd lose my shit too if someone hurt Spirit like that - well, I kind of already did. But I just canât let anybody screw around with the people I care about and get away with it. You understand that, right, Marie? You know Iâm only trying to make sure youâre safe?â
âI know.â
âAnd Iâll keep my promise and Iâll try to keep my temper, but if that - if he ever does anything to hurt you, then - â
âThen Iâll tell you. Right away. And then you can do whatever you want about it.â
Kami stared, her jaw hanging open. She would have been less surprised had Marie literally turned into a werewolf in front of her. âR-Really? Are you sure youâd do that?â
Marie smiled. âI can say that I will easily, because I can also say with absolute confidence that Iâll never have to,â she said brightly. âI told you, Iâm not in any danger from Stein, not at all.â
â...I still donât like it.â
âI never expected you to.â
âAnd donât think that Iâm not going to stay on alert. I am. Maybe not high alert, but still. You might trust Sawbones, but I still canât. Spirit probably will, eventually, but donât blame him if it takes a while, okay?â
âI wonât. I can understand all of that, too.â
âSo we understand each other, now, is that it?â
âYeah.â Marie reached over and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. âYeah, I think we do.â

It took five increasingly urgent taps on his apartment window before the sound caught Steinâs attention, and he turned his head to see Sid hanging in the window like an oversized spider, clinging to the edges so tightly his fingertips had turned white. He jutted his chin at the lock, silently asking to be let in.
Sighing, Stein turned the book heâd been absorbed in over on the cushion beside him, retrieved his crutches from where they rested on the arm of the couch, and carefully got up and went over to open the window. âYou know, I havenât tested it out myself, but Iâm pretty sure that using the stairs and door would be much easier than hanging off a third floor window,â he pointed out as the other boy jumped into the room.
âSure, but this is much better training!â Sid explained. He slipped a bulky, half-zipped backpack off his shoulder and dropped it onto Steinâs vacated spot on the couch, a small pile of worksheets and study packets spilling partway out. âBrought your homework up. I know youâll be back in class pretty soon, but how long until you can go back on missions?â
âWell, the cracked ribs should take around six weeks to heal, and the fractured leg should take about the same. So, a while. Fucking Kamiko and her fucking hook kicks,â he muttered. âI wonder if these crutches are hard enough to break some of her bones.â
Sid smirked. âI donât think youâll have to worry about that. Someone else has already got it covered. Didnât anyone tell you yet?â
âTell me what?â
âYouâll be happy to know that your girlfriend has finally fulfilled her destiny and become an Avenger,â he announced proudly, only for his face to fall when his friendâs only response was a blank stare. âYou know, Mjolnir? Thor? The Avengers?â
More blank staring.
âRight, forgot who I was talking to,â he said with a roll of his eyes. âAnyway, the point is, when Marie saw how bad Kami beat you up, she jumped her in the woods to get her back for it, and then they just yelled and punched the shit out of each other for a little while.â
Steinâs eyes went wide. âIs Marie okay?â
âAhaha, see, this is why I told Kami that she had nothing to worry about! But of course she wouldnât listen to me.â Sid gave him a reassuring grin. âMarieâs fine. Spirit and I happened to be there dropping something off to the nurse while they were getting patched up. Sheâs a little scraped up, and her back and shoulder will probably hurt for a couple days, but other than that, nothing. Kami, on the other hand...You should have seen Spirit lose it when he saw what happened to her.â He adopted a high, squawking imitation of the scytheâs voice - ââKami! Babe, your face! Your beautiful, beautiful face! What, did she shoot you with a cannonball or something?â And then she Kami Chopped him right into the infirmary bed next to hers.â
He started to smile, but stopped himself when it made his black eye start aching again. âThat sounds right all around. I take it Kamiko learned her lesson, though?â
âI guess so. I donât think that even divine intervention could stop you two from bickering and fighting all the time, but I get the feeling that if either of you ever hurt the other this bad again, Marie will actually explode.â
âThatâs a fairly effective deterrent.â
âHah, yeah. Though I think Kami didnât quite get the full message: sheâs still hoping that Marie will ditch you anyway.â
The hell with his black eye; at that, Stein smiled. âWell, if thatâs the case, then I think sheâll be waiting for a very, very long time.â
Spirit had blown more money than was probably reasonable, had lifted and swung that ridiculously big carnival hammer into the lever until his forehead dripped sweat and his arms were sore, but still he could not hit hard enough to push the puck higher than halfway up the tower.
âThis is getting painful to watch...Here, let me try,â Kami said, and she took the hammer from her boyfriend, lifted it high above her head, and slammed it into the lever as hard as she could.
As the puck shot up the tower and hit the bell at the top so hard and fast it cracked loudly, Spirit, staring up at it, could only think, Holy Death damn, I knew there was a reason I fell in love with her.Â
