β Β β¦ lord braska,Β β timid is the serpent boy, shy in the face of seniority. to see, let alone meet the father of the girl he adored. the father being a high summoner, the most recent one βΈ» the person who last saw his own father alive.
β Β respectfully i'd like to .. ask if it was okay to have your daughter's hand.Β β he pauses, realising the severity of his request. he only wanted to date her, to see if lord braska deemed him worthy but now it seemed like marriage.
he wasn't seymour, tidus would never pressure yuna into something like this. β Β β¦ n-not to marry!! just to uhβto date her, i really like her. i do, and i wanna make her happy, but its hard to live up to expectations andΒ β¦ well, i just want to ask you. do you think i'm worthy of her? β
it is not as if he is unaccustomed to formality, being who he is. he is something of a professional by now in such arts, truly. and though it is nice to be respected, more often than not, he's found, such traditions merely serve to place unnecessary distance. too often, such things simply to get in the way.
he knows who this young man is long before he's introduced himself, of course. and that, too, makes the cautiousness with which he's approachedβ to himβ unnecessary. but, he does not interrupt. and that's his way of returning the respect he's being offered. however, he cannot help that, as tidus speaks, a grin begins growing across his face.
the young man is obviously nervous, fidgeting. and quickly enough, braska come to see why exactly. his eyes go wide, mouth parting with surprise at the sudden request. and his expression, it seems, triggers yet another string of words, hurriedly given.
in his attempt to be polite, it seems, tidus has made a little mistake. and braska cannot help it. the second the young man is done speaingk, he bursts out laughing, dipping his head as he attempts to settle himself and blinking away tears as he looks back a moment later... positively delighted. the amusement in his voice is obvious.
" while i appreciate the sentiment, it is hardly my opinion that matters. from what i understand, you make her more than happy enough. " he begins, not softly beaming. the laughter in his voice is not at tidus's expense. " and besides, i am hardly an expert on proper courting procedures. "
