#spike transformers

It all started like in G1. The Autobots retreat to regroup, the Decepticons attack, in space, and a hard landing on Earth, but in fact it happened not in the time of the dinosaurs, but in 1980. Bumblebee is the first and only bot to wake up after the fall, and looking for help, he scanned the same Volkswagen, but due to the low level of energon he falls into stasis in Alt mode. 5 years have passed, during this time the other Autobots and Decepticons woke up and created their bases, but the first noticed that one of them was missing. They could not find the Bee signal, so they searched the old way. Meanwhile, Sparkplug and his son wanted to buy a car, but due to financial problems, they did not do it. Spike really wanted to help his father, who worked hard to provide for him and if he had a car, it would make things easier, and while walking in the forest he found an abandoned Volkswagen Beetle, which he decided to repair. After the repair, Bee woke up again, but he was very tired and his system was unfortunately damaged by the effects of time, so he did not remember anything and could only speak Cybertronian, that is, his adaptation system was also damaged. It was at this moment that Bee injured his left eye. So Bee met Spike and they quickly became friends.

Spike then immidiately says, and I quote:

I think the detail about the beam from the Nemesis confused you, as yes, while the harvester thingy was destroyed by Devastator, there were still whales being sucked down while Elita was trying to keep Optimus on Cybertron—but that was I guess because the portal was still closing (and idk water physics)…keys words being ‘I think’”

“Oh. Thanks g. From what people were saying about Elita, what with comparing her to Megatron and Shockwave, you would’ve thought the feeder was still on lol”

We had a practical argument, that wasn’t just “We need to protect innocent sentient beings” and…

“No, wait, he can still fight…The Matrix (as well as Megs’ evil Matrix) in this continuity at least, doesn’t effect combat performance”

“No but maybe it can turn on a TV, hehe—”

“And also, potentially kill Optimus—someone who has way less experience in the war compared to Elita now, twice when he used it so…”

“He’s free. Unburdened”

“Well, Orion, Ariel, Dion, Magnum—they never asked for this—"

“We don’t know that. We don’t have all the context yet”

Alright let’s just…try to fit some of this month’s delivered puzzle pieces together—

Look, man. I can suggest a billion changes to a story that’s simply way bigger than its writing (as mostly everyone has been doing nicely for the past week cuz leaks)—but at the end of the day, my ass is not in that writers room (and I’m sleep deprived as it is, when it comes to what I manage to write anyway)—

And what I do see…I like. A lot. Enough to come up with theories and motivate myself to try and make some art. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And while I hate math, I’ll share two inequalities:

Peak ≠ Perfect (Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame? Peak [as in peak enjoyment]). Dreamwork’s Prince of Egypt? Perfect)

Cool ≠ Aura (Skybound Megs. Does he have cool moments/look cool at certain points? Yes. Aura? The fight with Golo, debatably. That’s it)

Questions brought up, that maybe I can BS my way through for funsies lol:

“Why didn’t they chase after the Decepticons?”

A pacifist, scientist, traumatized magnus—and Brawn with his bashed in faceplate (like dayum bro) chase after 2 combiners.

No full combiner team of their own. A leader fueled more by guilt than a will to live. No human military support.

“Evil prick got a taste of his own medicine with the acid; should’ve also launched some acid at his mouth Mayhem. Or his…ya know lol. Cuz he’s also one”

What can possibly go wrong.

“How did they get to Earth with a lack of energon? Shredhead alone broke the space bridge”

You know how you get so pissed that you start sayin’ things that you deep down don’t mean.

I think this is Elita after she spots Carly and subconsciously is like “Frag what am I doing—why can’t things be different?”

Because if circumstances WERE different, and she actually spent time on Earth, she’d be cool.

“Why did the Matrix accept Elita?”

Idk why are we treatin’ the Matrix as if it’s a god?🤨

Like hasn’t there been a running theme with devotion, and the potential consequences of going too far with devotion (in this comic and in Void Rivals)?

“Why did Ultra Magnus leave?”

Out of story: One Mags for Earth, one for Cybertron

In story:

Ultra Mags: *After having a PTSD attack, fleeing to a presumably safe place and finding out that at least Shockwave is gone, Flagg happening (Love ya, you’re fun to read, but Hell awaits!), also expressing having no will to live, as well as having no control over his situation and feelings of inadequacy*

I just feel I’m needed.

/ He’s not gonna be of much help on Earth given his mental state, and he knows that, so maybe the most healthy thing he can do is be able to put his faith in Arcee and Optimus, heal around others not involved with Earth, gain exp, figure out which Decepticon commanders (technically more experienced than Megs) are left on Cybertron, etc.

“Why are the Autobot symbols scratched?”

I don’t think it hurts (and the same would go for getting the symbol branded)—

To keep track of who stayed? Maybe it’s a custom?

“I think the better question is what does it mean in this continuity to be an Autobot? Like traditionally?”
