Do I have a favorite Underling? Oh God do I have to pick one?

I don't like a whole lot of the Underlings, and I bet they don't like me much either, but if I had to pick one, it'd probably be maybe the Accountant or the Barkeep?

But there was another Underling I remember, the uh, the runaway one. I don't think we ever really talked much, but I kinda feel bad for her. Being on the run all the time, constantly fleeing. Exhausting, I'd imagine.

(He glances down at his hands.)

Although she's uh- not the only Underling I feel bad for-

(He frowns.)

(He is heavily caught off guard, and visibly alarmed.)

What- No- I didn't- I did not say that.

(He looks around, cautiously, to make sure that he's alone.)

I just said that if he was interested, I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to trying something out. I did not say that. Also please don't tell him I said that or anything of the sort.

I don't even know if it would work out anyway. I think things as they are now are fine. Well, not necessarily fine, we've both been through a lot recently but-

(He sighs.)

I just worry. A lot. Something's going to go wrong, and then he'll never trust me again. I don't know why I'm worried about that, but I am.

(He pulls away, bringing a hand to his face. He doesn't look angry or even upset, just baffled.)

I- I. . . Um. Thanks? I think?

(He doesn't move further. His voice is quiet.)

(Fall Guy stares blankly at the picture.)

. . . That . . . That can't be real. No healthy Innocent would ever. . .

(He sniffles.)

They'd never be interested in someone like me. Not like that.

I don't know what's- what's wrong here. I don't need to. I just know that it's- it's not right. It's not right.

(He turns away, holding his face in his hands.)

(He is crying, it is soft, barely audible, but he is definitely crying.)

I love you, Fall Guy. More people love you than you think. You're probably not going to believe that though. But you are loved.

(He lets out a pathetic squeak of surprise at being pet. He backs away, looking a little bothered.)
