Hello everyone, it is your dragon host here to bring you a little short story (?) that has to do with my Spiderverse au, Glitch in the Spiderverse! Most if not all of these little shorts will be centered around my oc Seven, in addition to their relationship with Miguel O'hara.
This little short is called Cold Seasons!
Cold Seasons
Description: Seven has been dealing with hibernation instincts due to it being late fall. They can barely work, much less function, so Miguel has a solution.
800+ words | Fluff, Tiny angst (nothing super apparent) | Unedited
*Disclaimer: I don't have much experience with Spanish outside of duolingo, so any Spanish speakers let me know if I used any phrases wrong!

It was starting to get rather cold out all across the multiverse as the days edge closer to Winter, leaving a rather disgruntled spider feeling exhausted constantly. In fact, they were currently curled up in their room, bundled in at least eight blankets in the warmest corner of their room. Which at the moment, was the closet.
Seven had dragged the softest, warmest blankets they could find into the closet with them so they weren't on the cold floor, pillows lining the bottom of the makeshift nest. And despite everything, they were still so cold.
It was agony.
"Dios mio, Seven." A grunt of.. surprise (?) startled them. They hadn't realized they drifted off in the makeshift nest.
"So this is where you've been." Seven heard Miguel sigh before seeing him squat down, his reddish brown eyes peering at them. His scent filled their senses, demanding their attention to be focused on him instead of the deep ache in their muscles.
"Mmm.. lookin' for me are you? Surprising." Seven's voice was rough, their throat feeling dry. They settle their gaze on him, albeit hard to do with the overwhelming exhaustion.
There was a twitch of Miguel's eyebrow when they asked that, but it didn't seem to be from irritation. Maybe.. concern? Definitely concern.
"You've been gone all morning. None of the others had seen you and grew concerned." They saw his eyes flick over the blankets that they were burrowed in, the urge to bare their teeth at him swelled in their chest.
It was instinct, a need to protect the warmth their body craved. But it wasn't needed. They knew that he wasn't going to take the softness from them. Not until the blankets need washed at least.
"You need your suit upgraded." He said plainly.
"I do not. This one is fine.." They grumble, not wanting to move out of the nest. Their gloved, clawed hands grip the blanket that was wrapped around their arms. Getting out of the nest, getting cold again, was the last thing they wanted to do right now.
"It wasn't a request." Miguel's tone and scent sharpened. It wasn't a request, it was an order.
Before they could protest further, his hand shot out to grab Seven's arm and they were dragged out of the nest. But despite the rough handling, it was clear he was trying to avoid hurting them unnecessarily.
"Do I-" "Yes." He immediately cut them off.
Seven grumbled before relenting. They were too tired to argue with him. Their exhaustion was the only thing that kept them from bitching more, but they'll likely do so later.
Miguel ended up dragging them through headquarters towards his 'office.' It wasn't too far, but it felt like ages due to the hibernation instincts kicking in. They were so close to just..
"Hey." Miguel's growl startled them awake. Their eyes flick open, wide as they dart around before settling on him.
They were laying on a sofa in Miguel's office, a new suit sat folded on the little table next to it. It didn't seem any different than the one they currently had, so they gave him a confused look.
"Seriously?" They were annoyed that he dragged them here while they were trying to get warm.
"It has a built in heating system." He picked the suit up and unfolded it. He unzipped the back of it before offering them a feel.
Seven reached out and were met with a thick, warm material. It was so warm.
They snatched it from his hands and hid in a dark corner to strip from their current clothes. The cold air caused their skin to sting, but they didn't care once they slipped their new suit on.
"Warm." They zipped it up, relishing in the energy that was slowly seeping back into their muscles. They have been so cold for the last two weeks, but today had been the worst of it.
But now they are warm.
When they turned around, they could see the faintest smile on Miguel's face. His scent was very light, like he was pleased with himself for this. Though once he noticed them looking, the smile vanished.
"Like it?"
"Mhmm." Seven hummed, nodding slowly. It felt good to have their energy back. "Feels good. Thank you."
"Can't have you unable to work, cariño." The endearment slipped out, which caused a moment of pause between the two.
"You should go rest." He said after a few long moments. His voice was a bit quieter. A bit more strained.
"Yeah.." Seven nodded carefully, eyes flicking to his face once more before they left his office. A tight feeling swells up in their chest and stomach, a queasy feeling.
Did he really call them that? It was... rather odd to them. Being addressed so gently. So kindly. The only other one to treat them with any kindness was..
Nevermind that. It didn't matter. They refused to think about it too hard. It was just a slip up.

Juno is just my old roblox avatar but more simplified lol. I also went from memory and used 0 reference.
Isolated renders that probably look nicer to look at.
