now, call me crazy. but i feel like we’re running out of subtext here.

Not entirely sure how well this one comes across, but the idea was it a creature (or even a construct) more or less pretending to be a dragon. But instead of spikes or spines or even claws it only had teeth to work with. Enormous mouth across its entire spine to replace those spikes, mouths on its lower arms to add spikes there, mouths on the underside of its paws so it can use teeth as claws. And of course its insides glow, like the threat of fire from a real dragon.

something can ruin your day and then right after that occurrence, something good comes along and gets you back to your good mood you had from the start. :)
