I don't know if you like soriel at all, I can't remember, but given chapter 5 gives more evidence to the "UT sans is the sans from deltarune" theory, what do you think about the potential angst that gives the soriel ship (sans gets stranded in an alternate timeline, everything he knows and loves is gone and one day he recognizes a voice of someone he once cared for from behind a door, but he knows that's not the same toriel he knew).
Honestly that deltarune theory has got me interested in the characterization of sans again.
this may be a hot take but that actually somewhat cheapens soriel for me. I find it much more interesting that sans did allat for someone he only knew as a voice; him latching onto toriel because it was ~the love from another universe~ somehow feels more shallow
in fact, the sans is a DR>UT transplant aspect has always felt cheap to me. I'm not opposed to sans and papyrus coming from elsewhere, but it feels like forcing a multiverse where one really isn't needed at the expense of the emotional core. marvel writing-esque, imo
i kind of like that sans is fucking kris’ mom. everyone suddenly got all annoying because toriel is old and now sans is a cougar chaser but he’s been a cougar chaser and that’s a feature not a bug
