#sonic hypothesis

This is a little hypothesis and now headcanon I have now that I wanted to put out into the world.

So we know Sonic while no longer having a canon age, this is a teenager. From there as established in a previous post Classic Sonic is about 2'4/2'5 feet tall, with Modern Sonic aka teenage Sonic is 3'3 feet tall.

So about how tall is an adult Sonic going to be, since Sonic Team will probably never show us that.

Well my hypothesis/headcanon is Sonic will be as tall as Mecha Sonic, as Mecha Sonic is much taller than modern Sonic is. Alongside that Mecha Sonic is actually around the height of other confirmed adult characters such as Vanilla. Written by Eris

So while previously I have suggested Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games isn't canon, there is a possibility it could be.

So for starters the games have established Mario & Sonic are arriving at this earth from their own respective worlds. This isn't impossible for Mario since characters have achieved dimensional travel before, and Mario & friends have visited what is called Tour Earth on multiple occasions. Sonic on the other hand while being from his own version of Earth, the Olympic Games are canon to the Prime Sonic.

Now a supposed contradiction that makes Olympic Games not to Mario is the oddness in the heights. However, this is probably explained by Sonic and friends eating Super Mushrooms which explains why they are bigger than they normally are.

Finally it is has been said by Miyamoto in the games it is always the same Mario, and this would probably have to extend out into the Olympic Games as well. So yeah, the Olympic Games are probably canon.

So I wanted to start up a discussion on Amy's Fortune Teller outfit, so feel free to leave your input down below.

So while I like the design of the outfit and Amy is my fav, I have been conflicted about this outfit. This is because I have wondered whether or not her outfit falls under a certain stereotype or not.

So if you don't know in a lot of pop culture the the idea of a Fortune Teller alongside the outfits associated with and Tarot Card reading is often associated with stereotypes of the Romani people. See the YouTube User Florian for an explanation of this. Particularly their short videos “Fortune tellers” or Romani people and Romani people and Tarot.

So with that context I've wondered if this outfit for Amy is falling under such a stereotype. A friend of mine I had a conversation with has suggested Amy's outfit and tarot card reading could be based on Egyptian Fortune Tellers, though I am him are still not completely sure. Note there are different types of tarot card reading that aren't Romani as the Florian says in their video. But also some of the other ones are still in a similar boat. (I am unsure if the Egyptian Tarot Card Reading is one of them.) I'd note several of Amy's cards do seem to fall under the popular concept of Tarot Cards which does originate from such stereotypes.

So I wanted to see if other people have input on this, on what do they think. Is Amy outfit and Tarot Cards based on the pop culture idea of fortune telling, or is based on something else like Egyptian Fortune Telling. Also, which every way it goes is why, and is the latter also a stereotype or not? Alongside if there is any official input from Sonic Team or say a particular person who designed this outfit, and what was the inspirations for this design.

Note this isn't to accuse Sonic Team of purposefully putting in a stereotype, but from a place of honest inquiry. Keep in mind such stereotypes are what they are though this pop culture depiction is all too widely known to be a stereotype unless you live in somewhere like the UK. For example, not many people know the G slur is a slur as it is used so casually in media. Written by Eris

So the IDW comics were called canon in Sonic Official - Season 7 Episode 7 at 15:58 officially. But it's canonicity is contested by the fans, why may question why this is? Wellll......

The IDW Comic's canonicity is contested by many as the comics have many very conflicting depictions of the Sonic characters, as well as somethings simply not making sense. For example, Sonic being mischaracterized, Eggman's potential to change, possibly Metal Sonic, Shadow getting infected, and everything Silver fans talk about.

Such contesting is done to many other pieces of Sonic media that are called canon such as Sonic Prime, Sonic Speed Sim, and ones on the timeline such as Sonic The Hedgehog 4. Many people view the additions of the pieces of media as haphazardly added on as a means of marketing the canon, without a regard on consistency that which they add as canon. Note this bit commentary and note whether or not I agree with the contesting of STH4 as an example. So people view such statements of canonicity as not as strong as other statements like that of Knuckle's Chaotix being canon, because they seem to only exist for marketing reasons.

On this, original the IDW Comics were merely inspired by the games and were a what if this happened after the events of Sonic Forces. That it wasn't supposed to be the direct or canon continuation of the games. Which as that the inconsistencies do make some sense, because they weren't trying to be canon in the first place. But now they have apparently been made canon.

So... As we know characters like Starline and Tangle have been named dropped before making those characters canon. So how can people view this. Welllll......

Fully canon, you can view the events of comics as fully canon and try to harmonize the inconsistencies that were written when it wasn't intended to be canon.

Half canon/parallel, a way for people who contest the IDW Comics canonicity is to view it how the FNAF Books are to the game continuity. That the many of the events of the comics did happen and characters like Starline and Tangle do exist in the the games. But the events of said comics didn't play out exactly as they did in the games, and characters like Sonic acted more like how they do in the games.

(more like 2.5) The comics happen are canon, but only the earlier comics that were written when they weren't canon are only partially canon. That the earlier half happened but play out differently in the games, and the later half are more fateful. A Psuedo-Harmonization if you will.

All inconsistencies prior to the IDW Comics being canonized ends up being retconned, and altered to fit more in line with the games. Since there is already a precedent for this.

So as we know from the post credits scene, the next movie will be will have Amy Rose and Metal Sonic in it.

Due to their first game involving time travel and Metal Sonic appearing like the Terminator does I believe this movie will involve time travel.

Now who is sending Metal Sonic after Sonic?

My first guess is it could be G.U.N. as throughout the movies they have antagonized and lied to the Sonic and friends. On top of that they ordered the creation of the Eclipse Cannon, the whole thing with Project Shadow was sketchy, and even the G.U.N. Commander didn't trust G.U.N.

On top of that the Knuckles Show reveal G.U.N. has been collecting Sonic's and friends quills which they could indeed use to power Metal Sonic.

Second is Jim Carrey comes back for the fourth movie, or Metal Sonic was a failsafe plan he created to activate upon his death.

And due to the multiple Metal Sonics we could get a whole Emperor Metallix situation.

Finally an Agent Stone from the future wanting revenge, as we have seen from the Prequill Comic he is very capable. In addition I think an older Agent Stone with gray hair could dawn the mantle of Eggman as Eggman Nega.

Also, Metal Sonic could become Metal Overlord. Written by Eris

So in the Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games well games there is a little detail that people find off and that is the size of the characters. So in my Mario Lore Blog I've talked about the heights of the Mario characters. You also may remember a few posts ago I talked about the canon heights for the Sonic Characters as well.

So the heights in the Olympic games don't make much sense like Sonic being as tall as Super Mario or Eggman being taller than Bowser. However, a possible explanation for this everyone had eaten a Super Mushroom and that is why Eggman is taller than Bowser. However, this wouldn't explain why Mario is Small Mario in pixel form and not Super Mario.

So there is the main answer that these are different versions of main versions of these characters from their respective franchises. This is something Mario is no stranger too having established separate continuities to be a thing. However, this may conflict with Miyamoto's claim(at this point the Rabbids Games didn't exist yet), that it's always the same Mario in the games.

So let's say they are the same versions of said characters. Due to Tokyo 64 being weird and simply making the characters retro looking with no real consistency, it is possible Mario's Pixel form in this is just simply not accurate because of the machine. We also, know the Olympic games state Sonic and Mario come from their own respective worlds for this, and that both Mario and Sonic characters don't inhabit this Earth. This makes sense because Mario has had a history of visiting a version of Earth. This Earth's time could also been running at a completely different time than Mario and Sonic's worlds times.
