A women wants to join the club for access to those resources, and the members say, it's a men's club, so no. The woman makes all the various arguments, that she's pretty good at the activity for a woman, that she'll be even better with the resources, how can you know women can't compete if you've never let them, the segregation doesn't even make sense for bird watching, etc. etc. and the men will respond with "no, :) because the club is for men :) just make your own club :) or give up and just get over these silly distractions from doting on men :)"

So the women make their own association or club. Which has less resources and connections. It's just a trick to put pressure on women to rely on men, by design, in a extremely convoluted way. Women want access to men's spaces to get at men's resources, men want access to women's spaces to get at the women.

Yeah that's what it always seems like to me, minus the conspiracy stuff.

In all seriousness, you are leaving out some context. That being that Serena Williams said that she COULD beat any man ranked outside of the top 200, back in 1998. 203rd ranked male tennis player Karsten Braasch took the challenge and absolutely fucking smoked her.

Serena's statement was post-match where she admitted that "I didn't know it would be that hard. I hit shots that would have been winners on the women's tour and he got to them easily."

She proceeded to recant that admission only a year later when she was ranked 4th best tennis player in the world, and she even applied to compete in the mens division in the Eurocard Open. But it never ended up happening since they declined her due to being a woman.

So whether a female athlete thinks she can defeat a man seems to depend on how recently they actually did engage in a competition against a man =P

One also must wonder why you're ignoring the 16 chaos emeralds if you want to regard other elements of the game as canonical. What makes mobius canon but the 16 emeralds not, in your mind? What in the game indicates to you that one is to be regarded as canon, but the other is to be ignored?
