But that wasn't the silly part. For some reason, the actual Decepticon leader was Soundwave (he might have been a Prime, even?? which is a really fun idea to think about), who was Conjunxed to Megatron who was still their top fighter/ battlefield general.

Soundwave was also the one who controlled the mech technology the humans were using, syncing up the pilots with their machines with his telepathy and he made the efficiency of said technology dependent on how much they indulged Megatron and how much fun good old Megs was having. Megatron had a great time blasting through Quintessons while the humans covered his back? Everything functions at 100% efficiency. They pissed him off by trying to discourage him from picking a fight or let him get injured in a clash? Suddenly everything starts acting up and the minds of the pilots are stuck in their mechs for an indeterminate amount of time... which happened suspiciously often to Optimus, who was the leader of the humans and Megatron's favorite out of the bunch.

Allow me to babble for a little while.

Now hear me out on this one, when we see memories in Undercroft, Sebastian asks us to figure out how to take away Anne's pain, before turning to the Relic as a last option. But then, I assume he drops this idea since the next time we hear from him, it is actually from Ominous informing us that our dear friend is going bonkers in that tomb with inferi (and it's our fault). 

You can say the writers just forgot/rushed this part so that the fight with Uncle Solomon could happen, buuuuuuut what if there's a plot to it? 

A lot of things were cut (plus it's fun to theorise), so why not?

I guess that Sebastian just panicked and couldn't wait any longer, hence not informing us of his plan. 

(in which I think we were supposed to take part) and attempted to carry it out himself. I read someone's theory on Reddit (couldn't find the link, sorry!) that the Relic was cursed, and considering it belonged to Salazar Slytherin (who has himself a racist snake chilling under the school, ready to kill non-pureblood kids), I wouldn't be surprised. (A dark magic artefact, with a curse seasoned on top? What a cruel joke.)

I think that makes a ton of sense. 

Just think about it, when we meet Sebastian in the Catacombs, he's rambling nonsense. He's going mad. And honestly, I refuse to jump on: “Oh, he's evil, and it was his plan all along”, train because, no, it wasn't. He's described as having an interest in dark magic: “While his aims and goals often seem well-intended, he justifies acting questionably to achieve them and uses his sister's illness as an excuse to delve into Dark Magic.”

Sure, and he did dive into Dark Arts deeper and got carried away, searching for answers and a cure, but I believe he genuinely had noble intentions. It's not just an excuse. Perhaps at one point, it became one for acting irrationally. But I'd like to believe there's more to it.

Sebastian's curious, smart, and cunning, but he's also desperate. 

He's the only one working to find a cure for his sister, which puts a lot of pressure, that's why he may live by "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" and "Strike while the iron is hot" principles. The guy is simply running out of time, and in the panic and desperation makes dumb choices taking a dark magic artifact and without a proper plan improvising on the spot which results in him going mad and acting irrationally. 

Is it his fault for what happened? Yes. Do I sympathise with him? Oh, absolutely.

Now we, on the other hand, are opposite. We're also running out of time, but we cannot do anything about it.

Yes, we venture out and do our own research, but our fate is still mostly in Keeper's hands. 

We can't convince them, we can't rush them, we're simply stuck waiting. Waiting and convincing others to wait, too. We're stuck with "Haste makes waste" and "Better late than sorry" philosophy (or Ukrainian proverb equivalents "Don't run ahead of your father into hell" and "Hurry up – you'll make people laugh.")

But in the end we both are kinda doomed. Sebastian doesn't cure his sister, loosing her and his uncle in the process, while for us Ranrock almost carries out his plan, Hogwarts still gets attacked, resulting in Professor Fig's death.

Two sides of the same coin.

Such tragedy, such potential for angst, ugh!!!

my question is this - i am a fanauthor. on the side i also write my own original fiction but i specialize in fanfic. Am I allowed to use your poetry for a reference folder? I wouldn't use your poetry in a fic without explicit permission and without linking back here of course, and I'd never use it for commercial work outside of maybe taking inspiration without copying, but I wanna have a ref folder of Things That Made Me Feel Things about a character. It's not planned to be public as of yet, it's just supposed to be a bunch of screenshots in my drafts, but I'd like to maybe one day make it public once the fic was complete. (I already have your blog linked in my drafts actually, so if it goes public I'm not gonna forget.) I just want to make sure you're comfortable with me using your poetry for fanfic of all things

If we go with the theory that he is also another creation of Rhinedottir (Gold), he might be homunculus just like Albedo. Or something like Durin? (or maybe even Durin himself, that would be twist) Or a whopper-flower? Cause of the attack pattern in the trailer.

But mostly, I’ve been really struck by some dialogue that Falbedo (I’m going with this, I like it lol) said. These one's in particularly:

Especially that last line, “Useless things should be disposed of at the outset”. There’s something about it that draws me back to it.

Even before I realised that this Albedo is the fake one (which you can tell, cause he doesn’t have the star on the neck), I still thought this line was really out of character for Albedo; not something he would normally say. Sure he is a practical, aloof man, but this seemed too harsh.

This distinction also relates to the talk on Star-silver.

I pretty much picked up from the get-go on what Mihoyo was trying to do in regards to the ore. With the talk about how some are shiny and bright, making 'high-quality paint' but others are less so, having tons impurities which make paint viewed as 'fake or defective'. This seems like allegory to the possible differences between Albedo and Falbedo.

But this also got me thinking about another artificial being, Scaramouce. While I'm sure Scara and Albedo weren't made using the exact same 'methods', but I'm sure just like how Ei had to go through trials and prototypes to make the Shogun Puppet, Rhine probably did to. So what happened to those prototypes that came before Albedo?

Rhine from what we know wasn't really....paternal to Albedo. Sure, she taught him all he knew, but she was strict with him. It's even stated in Albedo's character story that "...his teacher would make good on her threat to leave him, should he fail." Not something you say to your supposed son.
