Recycling And Salvage Practice!

I've recently come into possession of a very neglected (3+ years in a shed where winter happens) one of these "power wheel" toys. Batteries are probably shot, but motors might be good. These toys are for small children to drive around in. Can usually haul two children at a time.

What uses could the resulting salvage be turned into?

Components:

- plastic frame

- possible drive train

- gears

- motors

- plastic wheels

- (possibly more, but that's what I can think of)

Scan the #solarpunk hashtag on Tumblr or the 30,000-plus-member r/solarpunk subreddit and you’ll likely encounter several examples of a certain subgenre of architectural rendering: dramatically geometric towers dotted with rooftop forests or tree-sprouting condos, far easier imagined than built. Or you might see the 3D-art cousin to such renderings — grander and greener still.

So why, when I ask Jay Springett about what solarpunk looks like in practice, does he talk about an old phone box that was converted into a seed library?

Bees primarily communicate through movements called the “waggle dance.” This dance gives a very specific location, by telling other bees the direction to go based on the position of the sun, and how far from the hive. This can tell of food, water, and even dangers.

So, using this dance, researcher Tim Landgraf from Berlin wants to create a robot that can redirect bees to safer foraging grounds.

“This sleek and curved, aerodynamic design forces air through the multiple openings where inside lies a stack of air filtration cubes that can clean 600,000 cubic meters of air per day, the equivalent to the contents of 273 hot air balloons.”

I wonder how efficiently this would work for smoke 🤔
