Indeed it is obligatory upon every Muslim to believe that the best of speech is the speech of Allāh and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) as is established in the Sahīh that he used to deliver his sermons commencing with these words every Jumu’ah.*

The reality is that every Muslim needs a library in his home, whether he reads or not. If he reads, then al-hamdulillāh. If he cannot read, then those who can read are many. If someone who can read visits him, then he can request for him to read to him from a book; or someone from his family will grow up to be a male or female reader and they may benefit.

Het verschrikkelijke nieuws verspreidde zich, waarna de duisternis alle uithoeken van Medina bedekte.
Anas ibn Maalik (moge Allah tevreden met hem zijn) zei:
‘Ik heb geen dag gezien die mooier en lichter was dan de dag waarop de Boodschapper van Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم Medina binnenkwam en ik heb geen dag gezien die lelijker en donkerder was dan de dag waarop de Boodschapper van Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم overleed.’

Good character is the key to succes for the person and the path to happiness in this life and the next. Nothing brings about good in this life and the next like good character, and nothing repels evil in this life and the next like good character. Thus, its status is tremendous and its position is lofty, such that when the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم was asked about what will enter most of the people into Paradise, he said:
تقوى الله وحسن الخلق.
Fear of Allāh and good character.*

And when Allāh mentioned the Prophets (عليهم السلام) in Sūrah al-An’ām, He (سبحانه و تعالى) mentioned at the end,
ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى اللَّهِ يَهْدِي بِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ۚ وَلَوْ
أَشْرَكُوا لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (٨٨)
“But if they had associated others with Allāh, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing.” [Sūrah al-An’ām ( 6 ): 88]
I say [Shaykh Ahmad al-Najmī],
Shirk [polytheism] ruins [a person’s] Islām and renders actions fruitless. A person engaged in polytheism, his good deeds are not accepted and his evil deeds are not forgiven; and there is no hope for him to be saved from the Fire. Rather, he will remain in the Fire eternally.

The meaning of submission is that you are submissive to the commands of your Lord, that you follow them and that you are driven to them by your belief in Allāh and your following of what he has legislated. This is because you know that Allāh does not command you with a thing except that there is good in it, and you know that He does not prohibit you from a thing except that there is evil in it.
