one of my favorite things about jesper is that he’s always willing to help out. in fact, he actively wants to help out. getting ready to defend inej in the very beginning of soc. offering to carry inej for kaz. helping colm with food/dishes when he came to visit. sewing extra padding into inej’s clothing. following his ma around the farm and helping with chores in a flashback. “i can read to him”. say what you will about him, but this boy is always doing his best to accommodate the people he loves and i love that about him so much

modern day jesper would 1000% be one of those kids who tells their dad everything (colm knows all about the kanej pining, the helnik drama, and all of jesper’s feelings for wylan)

i love the idea of jesper, wylan, and colm all going out together and everyone assumes that colm is wylan’s dad instead of jesper’s. wylan and colm find it hilarious but jesper is quickly getting more and more pissed off

it feels like the fandom tends to forget that jesper grew up in a whole other country and it kinda makes me sad cause like sure he speaks kerch pretty well but like. does he ever forget a word? does he have trouble picking up new slang? does he have an accent? does he speak zemeni in his dreams? when he talks to himself, is it in zemeni? does he read zemeni literature? does he celebrate zemeni holidays? does he celebrate kerch holidays? does he miss zemeni recipes? does he cook them? does he say zemeni phrases that don’t quite translate to kerch correctly? when his da first came to visit, they spoke zemeni to each other. did they continue to have conversations in zemeni after that? does he have any zemeni traditions? does he sing zemeni songs? does he miss zemeni culture?

jesper is both a momma’s boy and a daddy’s boy. a parent’s child, if you will.
