if elastic hair ties existed in the original baldurβs gate canon how likely is Adliirnβs modern hairstyle to be the preferred one
Aldiirn's preference is butt length hair in fancy do's but alas it will take a few years yet to grow it back out.Β
Some day I will take some time to learn how to draw fancier hair for Aldiirn because me im just like. just go for a buzz cut so I dont have to worry about mine. very opposite of Aldiirn. I imagine drow having a ton of pride in having long hair and gender differences are more about style. Aldiirn would still use a modest men's style more often but sometimes he wants to be pretty and femme and have all the braids.
Aldiirn leaves his hair down when on the surface or at rest. With the volume of hair he has it makes him look proportionately smaller & less threatening to topsiders and he can hide behind it to be cute. When on the job down under, Aldiirn puts it up in a simple working man's braid.Β
I like someone's idea of Vhaeraunites using braids as code so I kinda imagine the two little braids as part of that. Something in how they are braided to say he can be called on if a brother needs aid or intel.
Aldiirn will use a simple ponytail when all he needs to do is keep his hair out of the way for a short time, like applying t gel or putting his whole head inside a sunmelon to feast on its flesh. But he wouldn't wanna be seen with it!
For Modern Aldiirn, his concerns are more for gender appearance. Long hair is pretty gender neutral for drow but he's living a far cry away in America. Can't be too long or fancy with it so shoulder length simple pony tail is his compromise for personal desire & getting gendered right. Sometimes he leaves it down, sometimes he lets Astarion pamper him and put in some braids. π₯°
