Comic: 8/17/25: Action Concept: 8/17-9/26

Art Note: So these doodles were meant to act as a warm-up for the main illustration, but I may have gotten carried away a bit. See, two years ago, when designing Oswalt's Playful Land Outfit, I gave them an umbrella. Then made some action concepts for how Oswalt would fight in book 3 of Playful Land (ref. 1). Then the game proceeded to have the Prefect be part of the first group to turn into puppets. Which I understand; the prefect is supposed to be a blank slate, and it is easier to write them being kidnapped. BUT COME ON, YOU BASICALLY SHOT YUU IN THE KNEE. So I'm putting things into my own hand, and I am going to have Oswalt take part in a final battle, regradless if you want it or not. Anyway, these doodles are based on references from the internet and real life sketches. Also for music track for battle vibe, I got this.

STORY NOTE: So what exactly is going on? So Oswalt would somehow regain their ability to walk and talk but still be a puppet. (due to a charm that was given to them by their brother). So they would first find the control room to change the boat's course toward Sage Island and try to send an SOS. Although Oswalt is confronted by some puppet, they try to escape but get damaged quite a bit. They somehow reach the catwalk (look at last post). Now Oswalt could have played it smart and tried to find some way to get help. But they heard Fellow talk shit about their friend, which I think is what finally made them snap.

Unfortunately for Fellow, he now have to deal with an extremely mentally unstable 18 year old who is already under the park's spell, is immune to his unique magic, and is not afraid to use violence. During this combat encounter, Oswalt gives their opinion/crashout about Fellow idea. Here is some possible dialogue Oswalt would say to Fellow during the fight.

OSWALT: Just admit it, you're just mad you never had the chance to go to school. AND WHAT IS F@#KING WRONG WITH THAT? YOU SHOULD BE MAD THAT THE WORLD REVOLVES AROUND THOSE WHO HAVE MONEY AND POWER, LIKE THAT BOSS OF YOURS. NOT a bunch of KIDS. FELLOW: Don't act like you have any idea what I've been through, YOU SPOILED BRAT. OSWALT: Spoiled. . . SPOILED, you think you are the only one who SUFFERS. My parents acted LIKE I DIDN'T EVEN EXIST. All the adults in my life just want TO GET RID OF ME, from my stepmother to my teachers. OSWALT: Which you are right about something. School can be something be hell for anyone who is slightly different, weak, or poor. Targeted by both your classmate and teacher. Even when I was first taken to NRC against my will, because I have no magic, they made me a janitor, and even now as a student, I know some of my classmates wish I wasn't there. FELLOW: (out of breath) That .. only prove … my point OSWALT: But even so, I have met many of my precious friends at school, especially here at Night Raven College. Many students, who come from drastically different backgrounds, each with their own set of suffering, some similar to yours. Yet, I have seen them overcome and grow from their strife. OSWALT: So even if I were to remain as a puppet, I want to make sure all the people I care about are safe and sound. So that they are able to grow to their full potential. Because, to me, Night Raven College is MY HOME. FELLOW: STOP . . . with your . . . lecturing, it won't . . change ANYTHING. OSWALT: (sigh) I see a lot of my old self in you, so tell me, what is it you truly want? To remain a puppet to people who take advantage of those less fortunate, such as yourself, OR WILL YOU CUT YOUR STRING AND FORGE A NEW PATH FOR YOURSELF AND PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT?

Then Oswalt hit by a sand bag, because they are curse with bad luck.

Now you may be asking, what about Gidel? Well, I have two paths this can go down.

Which is that Gidel is conflicted, as Fellow is basically his older brother, who he deeply cares for. On the other hand, Oswalt is the kind person who supports his desire to learn. So he is unsure what to do. But by the end of the dialogue, Gidel decides to stop the two from fighting by striking his hammer in between them. But at the moment he does this, Oswalt gets crushed by a sandbag, causing Gidel to hit Oswalt's (wooden) leg with his hammer.

Two, which is very similar to the first option, expected Grim is there, who is also a puppet, but he didn't jump down when Oswalt did. So Gidel went to fight Grim on the catwalk. By the end of the dialogue, Grim caused a sandbag rope to snap and a Gidel to lose grip of his hammer. Both objects fell down and hit Oswalt.
