It becomes an even greater obsession.

He refuses to accept Ye Xiwu’s death even after he saw her die. Even when he’s standing in front of her coffin, he talks to her as if she were alive.

Even when he’s holding her cold corpse, he throws away his rationality in order to deny the cruel truth staring right back at him.

And when irrationality leads to desperation, he shakes her, yells at her, demanding her to wake up, because he won’t acknowlegde his reality. 

“You said I killed you, haunt me, then.” The Heathcliff vives are right there.

He would rather have her hate him and try to kill him than accept the fact that she’s gone, because that is not nearly as horrible as the pain of losing her. The pain of being all alone.

This is a man who’s whole life was tragedy after tragedy, who lived in constant pain. Yet, he had never known true tragedy, true pain, until that moment.

Someone has what I think is their first hot spot on her tummy (she won’t let me look closely). Hence the t-shirt.
