“Adult World” was produced and written by mika and angelico producer son jihoon 

“Industry’s Baby” was written by mika, with deepdive’s noah writting his own raps, and was produced by both mika and son jihoon

“Fake Friends” was primarily written by mika with some assistance from piper, and was fully produced by mika 

“Our Color” was written by both mika and noah, and produced by noah

“Bad B**** #” was primarily written by mika, but vivant’s lily and venus’ chloe helped write their own verses, and was produced by son jihoon 

“Party, Feel, Love” was written by piper and was produced by mika and yuki

✰ || ADULT WORLD STYLING

the styling for this era was IMMACULATE !!!

mika helped pick out every outfit just to ensure it fit the concept of her music properly and was comfortable enough for her to perform in

there were a lot of pastels and bright colors, as well as a lot of patterned pieces 

mika didn’t wear anything other than dresses and skirts + crop tops, which some fans didn’t appreciate but mika said it fit the concept perfectly

her shoes were often a statement piece of each look, the knee high laced up pastel boots being the most memorable 

when it came to accessories, the stylists kept it minimal 

there was a belt, suspenders, and a waist chain here or there but that was about it

her hair was dyed a base color of bright blue and had purple streaks all throughout it 

the hairstyles she rocked most often were either down with small hair clips, a high ponytail, or a half up-half down look

the styling for the one “our color” special stage was really bright and cute

mika kept up the skirt an pigtail styling from the other stages but switched out her skirt for a jean one and wore a pair of rainbow high tops instead of her normal knee pastel lace ups 

noah was matching mika for the color scheme, and rocked a pastel tie dye jacket that matched the colorful hair chalk streaks the stylist put in his hair

MIK SOLO DEBUT !!!

my baby has been waiting for this day since she left april all the way back in 2015 :(((

she was so excited to finally have her solo moment and that was so very obvious; from the extreme joy radiating off of her at all times and the amount of times she expressed her excitement for this mini, it was hard to deny how much fun she was having

both sugar babies and the general public were on the edge of their seats when the mini finally dropped due to no one knowing what it was going to sound like after the early release of ‘industry’s baby’

sadly mika wasnt able to perform ‘industry’s baby’ on any music shows this go around but she did hold a vlive with deepdive’s noah where they performed it acoustically 

speaking of noah, everyone ate up their cute, little ‘our color’ performance. the matching outfits and playful had fans fully in love with the pair 

the lyrics of the song once again stirred up dating rumors between them but both mika and noah continuously denied that they were involved romantically, explaining that fans needed to listen to the song as a platonic love confession between two best friends or soulmates

fans still didn’t believe them but they’ve gotten used to the rumors and assumptions by now

[dance] practice videos were released for every single song on the mini

‘adult world’ and ‘our color’ were your typical dance practice videos. ‘industry’s baby’ was a switched version, with mika performing noah’s parts and him performing hers. ‘fake friends’ and ‘bad b**** #’ were mic version with the girl(s) genuinely performing the songs but in a more casual way

the dance practice for ‘party, feel, love’ garnered a lot of public attention due to its sexual choreography, that involved a lot of physical contact between mika and akinari

overall the promotion period wasn’t the longest but it was a huge success !! 

✰ || DEAR PARK STYLING

she only performed three stages so she didn't have much styling for fans to talk about

piper dyed her long locks black and bleached her face framers and a chunk of the undersection of her hair

the “GOOD 4 U” stage had grunge styling to fit the breakup theme to the song. her hair was thrown up into a messy bun with some of her bleached face framers pulled out 

the "FBHPT” stage was more on the sexual side at piper’s request. she said this was her favorite stage outfit due to it coming from her own closet. her hair was left down in soft waves and her only makeup was lip-gloss and rhinestones on the corners of her eyes

the “In the 90s” stage had a retro feel to match the time period of the song. her hair was styled in half-up half-done pigtails that were tied up using ribbon that matched her shirt

✰ || ERA HIGHLIGHTS

this special album was dropped in the middle of sns-vix’ “sexuality” promotions so she was unable to actively promote the songs

but she did hold three special stages and absolutely loved every single on of them

piper wrote the lyrics for every single song and was assisted in producing by m.ka aka mika. she said this was a crazy project to take on but she had too much muse built up within her to not go ahead and do it

a music video for “good 4 u” was dropped when the album was released on the 1st. mini music videos for “fbhpt”, “friends”, “in the 90s”, and “happier” were released every tuesday after the 1st until the end of june

a lot of fans were shocked by how much this album felt like a callout to one specific person and how many emotions piper was able to pack into every single song

the theory of the songs being about nct’s jaehyun were shut down with the album’s release due to the title being “dear park” and after piper confirmed that park was the surname of the boy responsible for the album

fans have now gathered every idol with the last name park that piper has known interactions with; narrowing the list down to exo’s chanyeol, deepdive’s noah, got7′s jinyoung, and mika’s older brother

piper put her heart and soul into this album and was constantly going live her on instagram to promote it and to just talk about everything with fans

Apple Pie” debuted at number 1 on korean music charts, it stayed in the top 3 until the end of their promotion cycle

“Cherry on top” debuted at number 5 on korean music charts, it stayed in the top 10 until the end of their promotion cycle

“Stupid Cupid” peaked at number 9 on melon

“Girls like us” peaked at number 12 on melon

“Blue ” peaked at number 27 on melon

“Creme’ peaked at number 43 on melon

the “Apple Pie” mv got 19.5 million views in the first 24 hours

"Apple Pie” was written and produced by sm’s in house production team, with only the smallest bit on input from mika

“Stupid Cupid”, “Cherry on top”, and “Girls like us” were all produced and heavily written by mika under the pseudonym m.ka

"Blue” was completely written and produced by piper. it was originally going to be released on her soundcloud but she decided to lend it to the mini

“Creme” was produced by m.ka and partially written by yuki

✰ || APPLE PIE STYLING

the outfits were so quirky and cute, very different from their previous concepts

not a single outfit ever feature pants, they were always in dresses or skirts

the addition of aprons were the most popular accessory options and were featured in over half of the outfits

if they weren’t in apron based dresses, they had sweets covering their body or looked like they worked in a candy shop 

aprons, big bows, fluffy tutu/skirts, bright pastel colors, stockings, etc were the most prominent accessories 

the girls were usually wearing their designated color in some way

all the girls had different shades and styles of blonde hair for both the mv and most of their first week of promotions

yuki bleached her hair for the first time ever in her life and got rid of her signature thick bangs, rocking a ashy blonde to pink ombre

mika and josie cut their hair short for the first time in their careers, as well as cutting cute whispy bangs

yuki was the first member to dye their hair, going a pretty shade of pink and debuting it on the 3rd

mika was next, showing off a vibrant orange bang look on the 5th

yuri went a mint green on the 7th and josie went a heavy blue on the 9th

piper dyed her hair a dark vibrant purple that featured magenta thick highlights on the 12th

soyee was the last one to dye her hair, going ashy blonde that faded into a multitude of rainbow colors on the 14th

first mini under sm!!

fans had a lot of anticipation for this mini considering it had to be pushed back due to piper’s injuries

she was good to go physically by their comeback stage but that didn’t stop sugar babies from showering her in love and concern

the concept and styling for this comeback had similar vibes to red velvet’s red side, orange caramel, and wjsn chocome, which a lot of fans from each group enjoyed

the comeback stage was decorated to look like a huge cupcake factory, it was so extravagant for no reason we love it

the merch for this omg!!!

they release cute little aprons that were color coordinated with each girls and featured their signature along the ribbon tie 

they also dropped baking starter kits that were designed around the girls and the mv :( it was so cute :(

sm gave them their first solo online concert!!

the girls had so much fun performing and interacting with fans, even if it was through a screen

they can’t wait to go on a world tour once the pandemic is settled and over :(

mika kept up her youtube channel show called ‘sugar plum slumber party!’. this time featuring members of wayv, exo, suju, and snsd

their vlive channel was heavily active, each girl was live basically everday they had so much fun

yuri got her own vlive+ show called “yuri! let’s bake!” and it was the cutest weekly baking show known to man. a sns member guest starred each week and they all had so much fun :(

yuki and piper once again had major tension which caused a lot of concerns with fans

piper avoided the topic at all cost when it was brought up and yuki just shrugged it off by blaming it on “roommate drama”

sm created a pop up “bakery truck” outside of the sm building that sold sweets and treats that the girls love

every once and a while, the girls would work a short shift within the food truck and meet with fans :(
