So, although I was so looking forward to going to Japan in 2016, I've made the decision to postpone my trip. The reasons for this are as follows: - I've just started college, I have to pay for food, travel, and textbooks/materials for my courses. (Trying to save money for Japan whilst also paying for all this has been putting me under a lot of financial stress recently and has meant I've had no money to do anything for myself or to do anything with my friends.) - I am incredibly bad at saving money. (I was supposed to start saving in September and I totally forgot, I haven't been saving at all this month, either. This puts me down by around £250, which is a lot.) - Jamie is having job difficulties right now. (Me and Jamie have a promise to go to Japan together, and it's looking like he won't be able to afford to go in 2016.) - There are other things that require my money. i.e. Conventions (I'm trying to get to as many conventions as possible, so that I can get my face out there. I aim to perform as much as I can, to work on my performing skills and build up support so that I can apply for Avex again in a year or two and have a better portfolio to show them.) My main focuses right now are my education and my relationship with Jamie. Although Japan means a lot to me, and I've spent a lot of time tossing and turning over this decision because I wanted to go to Japan as soon as I could, I believe I've made the right decision. I need to focus on getting the grades I require for university, I've decided on my uni and I have my heart completely set on going there so that I can go my English degree with Japanese studies to spend a year abroad in Japan, until I eventually get my degree and I can live in Japan and teach English. One way or another, I'll go to Japan. But it's looking like it won't be for a few more years yet.
