Comfort foods this Monday. I stayed home. Canceled plans. It's raining. It was raining when I woke. I stayed laying in bed for a time listening. The crockpot of beans I set on last night simmers. And right now the world is weeping. Tired. It is August and yet I can't get warm. I read "there are people dead and people still posting about fun and food". Yes, because we live on. We seek our comforts we hug those we love while others arms remain empty now. We don't stop living. We can't. But we do weep. We hurt. We shiver in the coldness of August. We cry. The silence of change is so loud. I refuse to vote for a candidate who doesn't make the safety of this nation against guns and domestic terrorism a platform priority.
