i binged all 7 season in 2 weeks while i was hella sick and i am down bad for viren. so ive made a silly little ship edit video for my oc and viren 🤭

I read a recent interview where the show creators were asked who will experience the most change this season and their first reply was that Zym will go through his whole life cycle. I half thought they were kidding, fam. But now?

So this image seems separate from the others, but I think it’s how they find the secondary location with the really tall Skywing elf. I think this could be a Sky magic compass that points them to the Sky Nexus. There are 16 runes, and if you split a compass into 16 directions, you get down to things like ESE and NNW. They’d just need to follow the one that lights up or something, until they reach the Sky Nexus. And I think it takes a while, because here it’s just Callum and Rayla and Zym,

but here, Ezran has found them, and he’s brought Bait and a seriously awesome animal friend. It looks Moonshadow to me, and Rayla is already wearing her Tinker pendant. Maybe Callum and Rayla visited Tinker on the way to the Sky Nexus, got the pendant, and left, and then Ezran showed up and coaxed a ride off of Tinker’s personal animal friend, leaving the elf utterly confused. Ha. But Tinker’s apparently gonna be really busy doing his own thing, so that works out.

Wherever they are, it’s high. They’re up above the clouds, against the night sky. Lujanne’s Moon Nexus was high as well. I wonder if that matters.

And the swirls are reminiscent of the decorations on the Moonhenge at the Moon Nexus, too. A very sacred space.

A new elf! Guys! This elf is Tall™. And they have a metal-winged staff! So cool. I love them already. And they’re agreeing to help, but whatever it is they’re doing, it’s gonna be difficult, because they say, “We will need all the help we can get.”

But they do have a plan, because they start it right then, it seems. The elf has some really cool arm markings as they turn to lead the way! (interestingly, Lujanne didn’t have any)

And here is a very sacred place, it seems. The elf is still there, in the back, and Callum and Ezran (and Rayla behind Ez), but they stay in the tunnel and leave Zym alone in the larger space.

Except he’s not completely alone. Remember how Bait was all grumpy about Zym in S2? Clearly he’s gotten over that, and this is downright heart-melting.

What could the Sky Mage be doing to Zym in this sacred space? Why do they have to leave Zym all alone in there?

Maybe the creators weren’t kidding in the slightest. Maybe someone suggested using the Sky Nexus (because where else would you get enough magic to do this) to age Zym up so he can help defend against Viren, Aaravos, and Claudia, and their combined magic attacks. Maybe it was Zym’s mom. She has all of Xadia to defend, and she may make this weird hard call to save the elves and dragons.

A Sky Archdragon defeated Viren once. Maybe even had something to do with putting Aaravos in his mirror. It’s very possible that this is the only thing Xadia can think of to fend off the humans’ assault.

The question is... will they do it? If they do, what will that do to Ezran and his connection to Zym? I worry that agreeing to age Zym up will hurt him, hurt Ezran, and push Xadia into the same Narrative of Strength that Katolis is (literally) suffering from.

I’m hoping they find another way, but maybe the best way forward is learning from your mistakes. The first three books of the show are what I call the Vulnerability section, from Harrow’s letter to Callum, and Zym hasn’t really been in actual danger yet. Maybe this is his big conflict.
