I don't have a dedicated fic for his birthday this year...but I did spend most of today writing an upcoming scene in a fic where he's having a great time. It just so happens that it stands on its own pretty well. Plus, it's wip wednesday, so preview time!!

āHere, get these down, then?ā she asks, and he does work on that, but he also tilts her up to kiss him, while he starts fumbling with his pants. She gets the messageāshe holds his face securely to hers while he gets himself out. Callumās a mess: his mouth just hanging open and letting her kiss him sloppily, needily, his hands taking a pause from undoing buttons and drawstrings to shuck off his gloves as if theyād suddenly caught fire, his throat making low, hungry soundsā
She makes a point not to touch him there until heās settled back into just kissing her and nothing else, though. She wants to focus on thisāon him. Itās new still, and she wants to see every second of whatās about to happen.
His hands make their way to her faceādone with the fumblingāand theyāre wrapped up together that way a while longer. Callumās haste and rush slows but doesnāt quite settle; he just takes the reins. She hums appreciatively when he returns every ounce of her intensity, slipping his tongue alongside hers, teeth just barely finding her lipā
āand the only reason he stops is to kiss her neck instead.
He rocks her forward, fixing his mouth where her pulse beats, and pulls a new sound from her that sheās not sure sheās made beforeā
āCallum, Iāmāā she gasps, and his mouth leaves her, reminding them both thatā

headcanon that katolis has tipping culture and xadis does not (well nyx joked about it but she's nyx so who knows) so when callum starts walking around offering everyone tips straight from the royal coffers, all the elves are primarily confused and somewhat offended, but everyone just... takes it anyway. like either because they assume he's just being friendly (and not that it's customary) or if he's using human money they don't know the conversion rate and don't notice or they decline but don't really elaborate as to why (so maybe he just assumes that it's less common but still widely known). in reality like 80% of these people can tell he has Money and are just like. well fuck i mean like. yeah man
the problem arises when all the young silvergrove elves who work as couriers find out and start milking him for all he's worth. they're like bro did you hear that weird wealthy human is just giving out free coin this stuff is worth a lot. and then the adults figure out - and the silvergrove is like the one place where this almost never works but they're such a self-sufficient community and also moonshadows are way too prideful - and have to give a whole lecture about how demeaning it is and they tell runaan and ethari (even when callum's in the silvergrove as an adult everyone still usually goes to them and sometimes rayla like he's their child lmao) and callum's like WAIT WHAT

Callum is sweet, kind, honorable, considerateā¦ so many redeeming qualities but what annoys me about him is that he never accepts the fact that itās HIM, him that is the problem and not the wolf. That possessiveness, that need to be in control and have things done his way, he always blames it on the wolf, something he criticizes about his own father yet he doesnāt see that he does the same thing, he attributes all his negative traits to the wolf and being Alpha.
He wonāt relinquish control even in bed. He sees and knows how much Aurora wants to be railed agaisnt the headboard but no, itās his way, always afraid to loose control. Always things done when he wants, as he wants, at his pace, always because of the wolf and not because he the man has decided so.
