Okay, so skirts got me feeling some kinda way atm.
Skirts are considered feminine, technically, but society doesnât expect women to wear skirts unless theyâre âdressing upâ or some kind of religious, and this pisses me off a lot.Â
I wear skirts and dresses as a majority of my wardrobe. Theyâre fun, comfy, and I like them. People ask me constantly, âWhy do you wear skirts all the time?â
And I donât know how to explain to them how incredibly rude that sounds. I know ninety percent of the time theyâre asking to see if Iâm some kind of religious. But you wouldnât ask someone why they wear pants all the time! Itâd seem obvious to you, you have to wear clothes in public.Â
People seem to think they have the right to ask me why I wear clothes in public, and itâs stupid and irritating, and afterlife forbid I wear pants one day.
People freak out when I suddenly switch to wearing pants instead of a skirt. If Iâm wearing pants, suddenly everyone needs to point it out and ask why Iâm wearing pants today. I had a customer once ask me if I was okay, because they noticed I was wearing pants that day.
Do you understand how stupid and irritating that is?!
I have to explain on a near daily basis why I wear clothing that is or isnât the norm, just because I prefer to wear skirts more often than pants. Itâs not a statement. Itâs nothing more than I like skirts.
Just let me like skirts, for fucks sake.
