the fic itself is named after the album "bloody kisses" by type o negative. type o, and the singer, peter steele, were a HUGE influence on this story and is the one that helps shane discover things about himself, more or less. the title works because i think it's a perfect contrast between the dark, gritty shit surrounding both of them as well as the softness they find within each other.

each title is a song by type o and there's a reason for each!

chapter 1 is called "less than zero" (off the album "life is killing me" which is also the inspo for the dividers of the fic, actually!) because i imagine it's where shane is mentally. he's at his lowest point, going to that club and getting the shit kicked out of him. the lyrics and everything suit this perfectly imo

chapter 2 is called "i don't wanna be me" because, again, that's sort of where shane is at. he's deep in denial about himself, hating his actions toward tim at the end of ch1 (but things turn out alright <3)

chapter 3 is called "cinnamon girl boy" because i fucking loved how @chronically-ghosted taylor described shane from tim's perspective. the line that inspired it was, "The boy smells like cloves and cinnamon and definitely pot and it’s going to haunt Tim’s memories forever." and i was like "dude, cinnamon girl would be perfect" and taylor was like LET'S DO IT

this is my General Acacius x priestess!reader where she guides him through a pre-battle ritual meant to ensure the army's victory i initially intended it to include smut even though historically that would be very against the rules because i was horny when i came up with the idea but we'll just wait and see what happens

Son of Egypt was inspired by @television-overload's idea: that Samantha Mulder raised William. That thought clung, and stuck; and refused to let go until I'd written it down. I worked in the traumatized (clone) Samantha from Redux II; and built on top of that foundation with a sympathetic father figure and brash but loving brother (lifted then transformed from Prince of Egypt's narrative.)

It's by far one of my favorite works; and was, perhaps?, the most well-received. :DDDD I was also proud because it passed the sniff test with my parents (particularly my father, who was the OG X-Files watcher.)
