A new year is just leaving the starting gate! But that doesn't mean that you aren't dragging along some unfinished 'shizzle' from last year...or beyond that. You may think you can just push it aside or bury the crap under food, alcohol or other temporary diversions, but you and I both know: that never really works. And you can't take solid steps forward with that heavy ball and chain strapped around your neck! Here I am, saying, 'Sit with it.' You may be thinking,"Sit with it?? Oh man, that's tough!" And I will agree, 💯%!!! But until you do that, you won't be free to move on. My dad used to say, "If something is bothering you, take yourself off into a room by yourself or go outside and talk through it." He was right. If you've ever done yoga, you know what I mean. With yoga, you often have relax and breathe through a tough movement. You have to convince your body to relax. You will slowly feel muscles release their strangleholds. It's an amazing experience, but not easy to 'sit with it', so to speak. Same thing here. It may not happen all at once. You may have to take small steps.
