A rhino with butterflies by Ryszard Grzyb, 1991
Sirvan by Olga Woźniak, 1999:
propaganda: Sirvan rugs have a long history, but they also become an everyday part of so many homes, when I see this art I think about culture and how something can be adopted into one, so throughout that you forget it was not always there, like I knew a man who would not believe that the word "demontaż" was not original polish but french, because he used it everyday at work, I too stumple over it, as a child I assumed the Moomins were polish (because of the felt animation), or the discussions about american-chinese, or american-italian or any other imigrant cusine and wether or not it is "authentic".
A rhino with butterflies by Ryszard Grzyb, 1991:
propaganda: I love the contrast between the chosen animals, and how the butterflies despite being much smaller in real life take over most of the frame, obscuring the rhino.
