Alistair/Morrigan, Cullrian, Arno/Elise, Rick/Evie and Simon/Annabelle
Morristair from Dragon Age: I Donāt Ship It
Ok this was a REALLY tough decision but ultimately I think that I ultimately just ship each of them more with my brother-sister pair of Warden Couslands than I could with each other. I understand and support people who do though.
What would have made you like it?
I think maybe if they had more realizations of understanding like the Morrigan/Warden romance does. I think theyāre a little too antagonistic and poke fun at each other without really having a big turning point. They seem more like siblings who are perturbed at each other than having romantic tension underneath than with each other, and I mine the familial dynamic in my headcanons since, well, they become in-laws.
I also donāt love theĀ āthey have to bang and conceive a child or someone diesā plotline the game forces you through if youāre not specifically playing as a man romancing Morrigan. I mean, yes for drama? Amazing. But as characters I care about I hate that they have to go through it. Maybe also if I didnāt love them quite as much Iād ship it more, lol.
Despite not shipping it, do you have any positive things to say about it?
Yes! Itās a lovely enemies to lovers ship that has LOTS of potential especially with the bang-or-die plotline that could really involve into something dramatic and amazing and ultimately domestic. I just donāt think itās present in the games enough for me to ship it.
Cullrian from Dragon Age: I Ship It
Honestly? You bringing it up to me in this meme right now. I always felt neutral about it because I was such a strong Cullenmancer for so long but now that Iām branching out and seeing other romanceās both in the third game and in earlier games...thereās no reason for me not to ship this? At least not knowing now Cullen was originally going to be a bi romance option. Like, them getting together could be a nice merge of both their romance arcs into one story, and it would provide that mage-templar forbidden romance flavor I LOVE about Cullen/Inquisitor involving two characters I really enjoy!
So yeah, Iām not sure if I will canonize it in my storyline because I also really love Dorianās romance and Iām deciding whether I want my current playthrough of Dorian/Inquisitor Cadash to be the ācanonā one or not, but if I donāt use that, and in theory, for sure I ship it.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
The aforementioned mage-templar forbidden romance flavor and also I assume the teasing banter they have as friends would turn into flirting. LIVE for that.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Not really. None that people who actually ship it would have.Ā
Arno/Elise from Assassinās Creed Unity: I Ship It
The promo footage I saw YEARS before even playing the game. The tension! The banter! The chemistry!
What are your favorite things about the ship?
The way theyāre my literal middle school OCās down to being a Redhead with Blue Eyes and a Dark Haired Dark Eyed man except they are assassins instead of vampires. They are 18th century revolutionary childhood friends to lovers to enemies to lovers again which was A) the novel I wanted to write and B) all the tropes anyone could ever want oh my god
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
IDK Elise shouldnāt die I guess? Thatās pretty popular but needs to be said at every opportunity.
Rick/Evie from the Mummy: I Ship It
Why the sizzling weird girl/himbo chemistry between Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz the two most beautiful people in human history of course!
What are your favorite things about the ship?
How well they work together. Like, itās AMAZING that most of their romance is established in a show, donāt tell way. I love how most of them falling in love is displayed through little (many improvised!) actions as they get out of jams together, and how they start doing little things to support the other.Ā I love that they are so strong but are even stronger together and fill in for the otherās weaknesses. I love that when they argue itās because they care and they always do it in a manner that remembers to respect the other personās dignity. I love that theyāre just so hot I canāt lie. And much, much more.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
That Evie shouldnāt have been revealed to be reincarnated in the sequel. She deserves to be her own person and Rick and her to deserve to be their own special, unique love story.
Simon/Annabelle: I Ship It
This ship is just my personal fantasy like when you told me about this not really known in the mainstream media romance novel, it was so characteristically my thing it was disgusting.Ā
What are your favorite things about the ship?
Everything lol. I love how Annabelle learns to not be so judgmental and appreciate the not-as-fine things in life. I love how Simon claims to be not the marrying kind and the biggest rogue then goes out of his way to help Annabelle if she so much as has a hangnail. Heās so devoted and I love how fast he falls even though it takes a while to see what is in front of her. I love how he wants to take care of her and spoil her and be a better man for her (even though he doesnāt have that much to do to get there lol) andĀ I love how her perception on him changes. Their chemistry is fire but it really gets built on a foundation of mutual respect and surprise at how deeply the other feels. I love how they both have realizations about themselves and their way of life and how to improve themselves without having to change who they are or what they like fundamentally to be together. I love some other things about them but I canāt mention those in polite society.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
No because this ship isnāt popular period and I love everything about them lol now excuse me Iām off to self-insert as Annabelle
