Me, at 3am: Lord of Shadows but instead of it going the way that it did, Emma doesn’t find out about the curse and instead she and Julian go on to find a way to hide their relationship in plain sight. Emma suggests that she pretends to date Mark whilst Julian pretends to date Cristina, so the four of them are in the same place at the same time and when they are people assume that they’re both respectively dating Mark and Cristina where in actual fact they’re dating each other. Julian is uneasy with the idea but agrees for the sake of keeping things on the downlow. In this scenario Cristina never gave Diego a second chance of course, and her and Mark have eyes for each other already. Of course this throws a spanner in the works because how can you go on a double date when Emma and Julian’s ‘partners’ are giving goo-goo eyes to each other? Also the return of Kieran throws a spanner in the works too because we know that both Mark and Cristina have eyes for him and vice versa. So, the whole scheme is slowly but surely collapsing in on itself. Still, they try to make it work. But a positive to this whole scheme is that Julian and Cristina build a stronger friendship in which most information about Julian is obtained from himself (and not Emma) and so the dynamic between the four of them is strengthened. Also less tension between Mark and Julian, woohoo!! Everything in Lord of Shadows continues as normal, minus most of some of the angst and probably far more Blackstairs wholesome scenes in the times that they’re alone, until they inevitably learn about the curse from Magnus (probably) and then instead of going and breaking each other’s hearts and keeping secrets Emma and Julian agree to go to the Inquisitor and request exile. Then the ending happens the way that it does and Queen of Air and Darkness resumes as it does in normal.
