abby, turns out the basis for laddshipping is canon
WE REALLY SHOULD’VE HAD AN EPISODE WHERE THE SOCIETY CAME AFTER ATTICUS BECAUSE OF HIS ASSOCIATION WITH DARKNESS!
WE SHOULD HAAAAAAAAAVE ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ IT WAS LITERALLY RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR FACES AND THEY FUMMBLED IT SO BAAAAAAD 😭😭😭😭
Literally it drives me fucking mad, it does 😭 I stg the more I think about this stuff and the more familiar I become with the sub as well the more I'm convinced neither the dub nor sub writers knew how to fucking write when they were working on this show at times 😭
Because like... if the entire ultimate goal of the Society is to eradicate everything that can create darkness then narratively but also just fucking logically speaking, WHY ARE WE JUST IGNORING ATTICUS - THE VESSEL OF THE POWER OF DARKNESS ITSELF - ENTIRELY THIS ENTIRE SEASON?????????????????? It makes literally 0 sense whatsoever to me. And I can't even logic it out like, "oh they probably just didn't know 🤪" when Sartorius should be able to like, sense that tbh because the Light of Destruction should be on high fucking alert for that kinda stuff and if he can use his tarot to divine all these things about Jay and Aster and Chazz, and literally Hassleberry having dinosaur superpowers and that possibly being a problem for him, it stands to reason they could've had him figure out Atticus's darkness connection that way. Also he LITERALLY has Chazz and ALEXIS under his control who KNOW THAT. THEY COULD T E L L HIM 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Then Sartorius should be trying to remove him from the equation EXPEDITIOUSLY. AND WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE.
And just the dichotomy of light and darkness is a classic, kinda cliche plot but it's also just SO GOOD and it HITS every time it baffles me that they set up the perfect opportunity to have a clash between the two forces yet they do absolutely NOTHING with it 😭 they set up the most basic bitch trope and yet somehow they STILL messed it up 😭😭😭😭 And it would be perfect for some gooooood laddshipping because you can't send Alexis to get rid of Atticus because that's her brother, somehow in the process she's gonna get broken free once again he should've been the one to break her free the way she should've been the one to duel him in the shadow rider arc but that's a rehashed rant for a other time 🙄 and the whole plan is shot, and who else under the control of the light is strong enough to take Atticus down assuming Sartorius wouldn't just do it himself? Chazz.
And thus, a clash of light and darkness. Or rather, two people who didn't have a choice who were corrupted, forced to battle for either destruction or preservation of said darkness. A battle between light and darkness, between best friends, between two complimentary souls that together create one whole.
G A H IT WOULD BE SO BRILLIANT AND POETIC AND THERE'S SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR SO MANY THINGS WITHIN THE CONCEPT HOWEVER YOU REALLY WANNA GO ABOUT IT AND ALL THE PIECES WERE LITERALLY RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM THE WHOLE TIME AND I JUST-
