everything is too big, clearly meant for a much larger species than he is, he has to be made specially made clothes cause nothing else fits properly. he cant eat some of the foods his family makes and has to be made a separate meal despite his desire to eat with everyone else, among other things.

it feels like hes alone, despite being raised by good parents n not being shamed for being human

After escaping the Watchers, the Grian has spent his silent hours putting the names of all those that he had Seen, that he had let die, that he had stood idle to the sufferings of.to paper.

He remembers everything- that is the gift of a watcher, there is a part of their mind, infinite as void, that allows them to recall every second of it all, every detail of one’s existence.

He writes their names, and every little detail of who they once were, and who they had hoped to be.

He doesn’t organize any of it, there is no rhyme or reason to their placement in a time because to him they simply need to persist. To exist outside of himself, to be found again.

There are tomes now, tucked neatly into his enderchest. Hidden in shame.

He reads them every day. He Sees them in his sleep.

One day, he will share his books. One day, someone else will remember, too. But for now, his inked guilt is what forces him to survive.

Their mother was a religious leader in their town, and a strong theologist at that. Her sons got their determination from her, and in her efforts to know all that she could of her faith, trying to become the truest believer, she fell into a small radical group called the worship of the sighted ones.

There was a lot more to her story, but that was how the twins became watcher born.

Their mother took her life when they were thirteen, and the two were sent to live with an old librarian and his fourteen year old daughter, Pearl.

After everything that became of them and their friends, after Evo, after Grian’s fall, after the life series...

They can’t find it in themselves to worship anything but their beating hearts, their two feet against the ground, their wings in the air, and their persisting hope for the better thing beyond the bend.

Religious groups become sparser and sparser from server to server, but after some Empires members ascended to ‘Godhood’ and G realized that Xisuma was still quite devout, the two found themselves having to set clear boundaries around how they interacted with faith. It can be hard, but at least they have eachother
