The date of the original injury caught his eye and he winced, glancing up to look at Arthur where the younger man sat on the medical cot. "Hell, we've left this for longer'n I would've liked," he sighed. "That's my fault, Arthur, I'm sorry."
He immediately wished he hadn't. He felt like that was the only thing he ever offered Arthur anymore, apologies and excuses. Like they were going to do any good. He folded his arms across his chest, looking at Arthur with what he hoped was his doctory, reassuring expression towards a patient before undergoing surgery.
