Both relationships include a what if sort of friendship, in another universe these people would’ve been great friends. But in the one they’re in they always had a time limit on knowing each other.

Plus i find the idea of Jon and Daisy being the only people who understand each other’s monstrous urges vs Melanie and Martin being bitter and hard to be around (/impossible to find) because they’re quickly developing as avatars at the same time fascinating
