And the first thing that comes into my mind is that

OROCHIMARU has an ENS card?!

What in the world?!

That aside the chapter was good in forwarding the plot.

So Team Konohamaru’s being assigned a B-rank mission. Boruto and Sarada are all pumped up for it.

I may not like Sarada’s pictorial portrayal aka sexualization by Ikemoto but the writing of her character by Kodachi is an absolute delight. The girl is focused, ambitious, badass and adorable at the same time.

Konohamaru had little to do and Mitsuki was just in the chapter. That’s it.

The current fire daimyo actually uses his brains unlike his predecessor while his son is a much more likeable expy of Inari. No wonder the Land of Fire is the most powerful of the Five Great Nations.

Shojoji is actually scary and disgusting, but at the same time, unimpressive.

The Hoozuki castle aka Blood Prison gets mentioned.

Coming to the titular character, its great to see Boruto’s growth as a person and character. He is still a child but he is becoming a more admirable person day by day. And can I say that he is also on his way to becoming a complete badass? He is really a more interesting protagonist than Naruto. Not that Naruto wasn’t interesting himself, but Boruto just does it better.

Speaking of which, special mention to the effort put in by Kodachi to write Borusara scenes. The man is a fanboy and nearly every Boruto chapter has at least one Borusara scene. He creates just the right balance of a childhood friendship with deep mutual trust and respect, and the budding mutual crush which is deepening with time and puberty.

So special mention to this chapter’s scene, when Boruto apologizes to Sarada knowing that Sarada is the one who will be most affected by him not turning up for the mission because of her dream. Equal mention to Sarada who lets off Boruto without a fuss and even encourages him. The deep mutual trust and respect actually heartwarmingly overrides the sensuality of the scene (pretty sure that the scene was supposed to be borderline sexual but with the two characters and their ages involved, it just turned out to be sensual).
