There was a gun pointed to his head.
Maybe that wasn't a good start.
He had begged his father to go watch this show with him,who knows the next time they will make a Zorro movie! Even managed to make the young cranky secretary of the hospital he worked at to tell he to do it(He knows she probably felt bad about him, they usually did when Bruce came to the hospital just to be able to see his father)
He begged his mama too, even used that stupid bow tie that itched to the weekly meetings at some old lady's house because he needed to convince his mom to come watch it with him.
It took begging,a lot of begging,to convince (exhaust) them into coming with him to watch the new show that was passing,he was so excited! He didn't even complain when his mama made him use the tight shoes he didn't like, they were going to see Zorro! All three of them!
He doesn't even remember the movie really, although he's pretty sure it was good, considering the people around them,he was too busy smiling and looking at his parents, they were there, not in a business meeting or in some stupid get-together with fancy people with fancy glasses, but here with their Bruce!
Well now there was a gun pointed at his head.
Well, to his neck to be more direct, not that he was saying one was better than the other
He remembers asking his parents to walk to the car instead of just waiting for the car to come get them,he wanted to spend more time with them.
He was the first one to see the man, mama was too busy looking at him and father was too busy laughing exasperated by something he had said a few seconds ago.
He was the first to feel it too, well the only one to feel it,the bullet coming out of the gun barrel and entering his neck
It didn't even leave it,it was there, somewhere he couldn't feel anymore.
He felt his mother's hands, her tears,he made her cry
He wanted to tell her it was okay, that he was happy he was able to watch the movie with them, even though he doesn't remember what happened in the narrative.
He wanted to tell his papa that he was going to be good now,he wasn't going to bother the secretary anymore,he was going to be very brave and very well behaved.
But he was too tired to do so.
I'm sorry papa,I won't be able to become a doctor like you,nor a business man like grandpa wanted, but you're still proud of me.. aren't you?
Widower
Word Count: 447 - @wolfstarmicrofic cw: references to death / dying
Certain words left a bitter taste in Remus' mouth and widower was among them. He had his father to blame for that entirely.
The first time Lyall Lupin was called a widower was during the funeral - a beautiful, quaint affair held in the village church. His father had scoffed, turned his nose up, and stomped away, leaving scandalised old ladies in his wake.
He scowled when sympathetic neighbours came knocking with flowers and condolences. Remus, just a boy back then, flinched each time his da slammed the door in the face of yet another unwanted "we're so sorry for your loss."
Lyall never really talked about Hope after she was gone. He brushed past the photographs that gathered dust in the hall. Her knitting basket lay untouched. He did not deign the queries about how he was coping as worthy of a response.
Remus grew to hate him for it, just a little. It was a bit like his ma stopped existing since his father never cared to let her live on. He never talked about her, or cried, or mourned. Worse still, he refused to move house, move towns, or move on at all.
Through all of it - the years of silence, and distance, and the resentment that slowly festered in Remus - only God could have helped the poor souls who dared to call Lyall a widower.
Remus hadn't understood him then.
Now, Sirius was in their kitchen, humming to himself as he twirled around, mixing bowl in hand. The scent of freshly made coffee lingered in the air, and the morning light drenched the whole scene in a soft, golden glow.
When his husband caught sight of Remus, stood in the doorway, gurgling baby in tow, the dopey smile that graced his face was- oh.
The realisation hit him. Nothing - and Remus means nothing - would ever light up his life like Sirius Black making pancakes for him and his son. Nothing would compare to the sleepy kisses or the mindless banter.
How had his da done it? He had gone without the freshly baked bread. He never read the paper while Hope sipped her tea again. He said goodbye to warm evenings and Sunday walks. He was never the same, but how could he be?
Sirius quirked his head at Remus, pulling him out of his thoughts. "You alright, Moons?"
Teddy babbled along with his dad, clueless as he was.
"Yeah," Remus replied eventually, and he really did mean it.
For the first time, in a long time, he felt he finally understood his father. Oh, Remus really hoped he'd die first, because God help the people who would try and call him a widower.

The Constant One
Man whipped his passport out so quick 💨
Batfam Headcanon
Ok, but anytime the batfamily is trying to find Tim, they will sing “Red Robin!” and will follow the sound of a very unenthusiastic “Yum.”. The reporters who are constantly following the Waynes are rather confused by this, but instantly let all of Gotham know. Tim freaks out, because now that they know that he responds to Red Robin, the world will know that he is Red Robin.
He is saved, however, by an old, popular blogger. Said blogger quickly theorized that Tim Drake-Wayne, CEO of Wayne Enterprises, was caught by his family thirsting over Red Robin and has since been mocked mercilessly. Literally every Gothamite started shipping them, and Tim had to convince Dick to dress up as Red Robin so that they could have a public ‘break up’.
Tim has yet to find out that Dick is the famous, trusted blogger who started that theory, and Dick has no intention of revealing himself.
