Book 4: Twinned Doom - A Hero is Invited
And now we can finally begin
I suppose we'll likely have to deal with the trouble these nobles will certainly cause throughout this new saga. With luck, we'll be able to use the voices that went in opposition to the Rose with our own to stifle any conundrum these people will cause to serve their own interests.
Good to know the peace between Dragonlords and Slayers is holding firm, we'll be needing their efforts.
I suppose it is only natural that there would still be many that would be distrustful of Sulen'Eska. Yalla's brutal conquest is what justified to many of them that Jaania solution of the Rose organization was necessary to defend Greenguard. Akanthus painting the Vind as violent as aggressors also not helping matters. That's something that going to take time to unlearn. Still, I'm glad they aren't giving Kara shit for it. She's worked too hard for peace to deserve that.
Lady, your hair is unsightly! Leave my child, Myalos alone!!!
Also I cannot wait for Notha and Uaanta to hear all about Aequilibria
Ya know with all this corruption, moral crusaders, and people who were just trying to help within the Rose, I never really paid much thought to those who likely only joined the organization as a means of just having a job and feed themselves and/or their families. Obviously not ideal given all the horrendous crap we saw the Rose do throughout Book 3, but hopefully those that weren't involved in any of that can find different viable occupations.
Ah, but now to the meat and potatoes of this brand-new beginning
Our watery friends from across the Deadlands Rift are among us. Fascinating that they refer to themselves as Hyonites. That seems to me a clear enough reference to Hyonix which makes me wonder if Mihyun here is actually just a dragon in humanoid form or if she truly is just a water elf.
This would seem to more or less confirm that the Water Elementals do in fact come from the plane of water that Neso had control of and as feared they've been losing ground within the Plains. But for the inhabitants of the Plane to prefer to come to Greenguard instead of holding on to their territory...I dare suggest that the Plain itself might be in danger in being swallowed up in a "shift" as referenced from the Old Man of the Wastes.
Their desperation to literally be anywhere else before that happens would make sense although it would not justify invading Greenguard without negotiating a means of aiding them.
Although I fear any terms of peace are going to be made difficult by certain group of aforementioned nobles
Yeah, not helping my speculation on Mihyun being a dragon.
Oh but in even more pressing news...
The Shadowscythe as expected have returned and they're back to their old tricks again of manipulating people into further acts of war.
It isn't surprising of course that they're making an appearance, but this would suggest they don't care how well-known they are in the open anymore.
