#shadow entities

Just realised that there are Beings called "white Shadow People", too. I have had many experiences as a small kid with a "white Shadow Person" (which, to me, are TOTALLY different to actual Dark Shadow People), and it was NEVER good for me. This white Shadow Person would always peek it's head through the open door to my bedroom as a kid, when the sun was coming up, in daylight, and I would always be so scared of it. I remember, I would always wake up early and feel this deep dread in me, "it" was coming. So, I used to pretend to be asleep, as I was so scared and didn't want to make anything worse for myself, and EVERY TIME, this… THING, would come peek it's head around the corner of the door, a full body, white, fuzzy looking, gender neutral spirit, and it would then start to "tickle" me, but not in a good way. This tickling was an overloading of my senses, to the point that I would call it painful. All throughout my body, my whole body, I would feel this feeling running through it, painful overloading of my senses with what can only be described as an intense, overpowering, tickle like feeling. It was awful, it was a form of pain, to me. After about half a minute or maybe a bit less, it would stop, and the thing would disappear, until the next time I woke up early in the morning, and it would happen again, and again, and again, a lot over a good period of time, I can't remember how long for, I was too small, and so I don't remember that detail, but, it was always in the morning time, when I woke up before anyone else, sun was rising. I also had a VERY GOOD experience as a kid, with a Dark Shadow Person, specifically, with Hatman. I will copy and paste my experience I posted before now, on my interaction with Hatman as a kid:

"Was contemplating on my experience as a child with Hatman last night, where last night I decided to well.. kinda invite Hatman into my space, since when I had that experience as a child, it was not a negative experience at all, it was actually quite pleasant. I was wondering if Hatman was connected somehow to me, I wasn't expecting to gain any sort of info from Him, but I was just curious why He came to me as a kid, and why He was not wanting to harm me, but instead, talk to me. For context I will explain my experience as a child:

I woke up from sleep, as I needed to go to the bathroom, and there was Hatman, a shadow on the wall, He was just a head and torso, as the bedroom door to the hallway was ajar, with the light on, so as to bring more light in, since, you know, I was a kid and kids can get scared of the dark, since I am a twin, I also had my sister sleeping in my room too, so it was a precaution for us to not get scared. Hatman was using the light from the hallway to manifest, by that, I mean, the shadows in the bedroom from the ajar door with the light, were perfect for Him to manifest, there was a corner in the room where He manifested.

But, there was something different about Hatman for me. He was wearing my mother's baseball cap, the same one my mother wore, and it was colourful, I saw it on the wall, Hatman, a shadow, wearing a colourful baseball cap that was my mother's. My mother used to wear a cap that was neon green and purple, and the hat Hatman was wearing was the same, even with the same markings on the cap as my mother's. I was not scared, I didn't feel any sort of malevolence with Him. I was actually curious. He had no sort of face, for He was an actual shadow on the wall. So, I started talking to Him, saying hello and such. He nodded and shook His head for yes and no answers. It was a rather pleasant conversation and interaction. I really needed to go to the toilet, so I asked Him to stay there, as I will be right back. I went to the toilet but when I came back, He was gone."

And, yes, Hatman has been with me my whole life, and still is with me. We have an amazing relationship. I did indeed invite Him into my dreams, and was given a very interesting first dream from Him:

"So, last night, I kinda invited Him to potentially visit somehow. I had the weirdest dream when I fell asleep, but not in the way you would think from inviting Hatman into my space. In the dream, everything felt upside down, yet it was the same, just a feeling of things being upside down, everything was backwards and at the same time, not backwards because I or others weren't literally doing things backwards, up is down, down is up, yet.. not, because there was no representation of it, it just felt like up is down and down is up, everything was backwards… Also, the numbers 38 and 58 came up for me. As soon as I woke up, I wrote my dream down, and I asked if that was Hatman giving me the dream, apparently, it was, so…"

And then, a bit later on, Hatman first manifested to me in a vision:

"Hatman actually came to me in a vision last night. Not a dream, a vision. Interestingly though, He kinda had a face this time, kinda. He came to me as Rorschach from Watchmen, in his garb/gear. The black and white mask he wears in Watchmen, the trench-coat, the fedora, everything. He was basically, coming to me as Rorschach. He did tell me it was Hatman I was seeing and talking to in the vision. Never watched the Watchmen movie or read any of the Watchmen comics though, but I have seen this character floating around the internet before now, a little."

And, I kinda related all of this to Tricksters and Heyoka's:

"Hatman came to me as Rorschach from Watchmen, and this relates to my Dream Hatman gave me, a Heyoka, everything is backwards, Dream. The Rorschach Test also relates to Tricksters, which Hatman could be classed by some as a Shadow Person/Djinn/Trickster. Tricksters relate to The Rorschach Test because of the Perception aspect of both the Test and Tricksters. Tricksters are seen as being good at seeing alternative and novel ways to do things, always coming up with different ways to get out of situations quickly and effectively, Tricksters use Their wits to find novel and different to the norm ways to handle the things They are presented with. Therefore, Tricksters are actually really good at understanding Perception and how intricate and varied Perception is with everyone, just look at the Story of Eshu and His Hat, Eshu was walking down a road wearing a hat, that was on one side, red, the other side black. Two friends were on either side of the road, and saw Him pass by. Afterwards, when the friends were talking, one said to the other "did you see that man wearing the red hat?" And the other friend said "He was wearing a black hat". The friends ended up arguing with each other, then fighting and in some of the versions of this Story, they ended up killing each other. This all of this relates to the Rorschach Test, as the moral of the story with Eshu (Eshu is seen as a Trickster to many) was that perception is different for everyone, which relates to Hatman coming to me as Rorschach, as the Rorschach Test is all about Perception, and that relates to the Heyoka everything is backwards in perception dream I had, and Hatman could be classed as a Trickster Spirit to some, which Heyoka's are classed as Sacred Fools and Tricksters too… everything relates, everything is connected.. wow…"

It seems, with me, that my experiences with Dark Shadow People are SO much more benevolent than with white Shadow People. Granted, there was only one white Shadow Person I have ever interacted with, and I do not wish to interact with any other "white Shadow People", I much prefer the Dark Shadow People, They are kinder and so much more Loving with me. But, I just find it so fascinating that people most often assume that because a Being is "Dark", or "Shadow", that They are "evil" or "negative". That is not so, to my knowledge. I would NOT trust a white Being, just for being white in colour, it just goes to show, that the colours or shades of a Spirit or Being, does not equate to if they are actually good or bad for us. This can easily go into the territory of thinking Light vs Dark, that light is always good and Dark is always bad. A metaphor I have seen sometimes floating around, is that light can blind and burn you, too, you know. Dark, is just hidden, unseen, mysterious. Yes, things can happen in the Dark, because people often take advantage of not being seen as easily, and that people are often asleep in the Dark. But Dark and Shadow does not equate to evil, negative, bad, wrong, dangerous, or anything of the kind, at all. Dark and Shadow Beings can be very kind, loving, caring, and positive, too.

In short: I’m looking for stories (either folklore or personal narratives) that deal with ideas of entities or areas that you are not supposed to mess with.

I’m working on my MFA and my work is dealing with the unseen forces and nervous anticipation you feel when you are confronted with things outside of your understanding.

An example I know that I grew up with is the existence of entities that take on the shape of animals or people to try and lure people out of their house at night to steal them away (for whatever purpose)

Now when I hear these stories, I start to crave understanding of it even if it might get me in some serious trouble. But I plan to live for a while longer so I’m not looking to be stolen away anytime soon. So, I’m looking for stories that call out these same feelings of nervous anticipation and craving to understand these unseen forces.
