My solution for the Balmung overpopulation issues:
1. Remove the damn gil cap. Even if I wanted to leave, even with this increase in gil allowed, Iām not about to buy 70-80 million worth of stuff in hopes that it would sell on the next server.
2. Letās take housing auto-demolish one step further: Characters inactive for 45 days get das boot to the lowest population server. This goes for alts of active accounts. Step 1 also ensures they lose no gil on their person.Ā
3. Limit alts on to 4 on the over populated servers. Alts take up valuable data room even when not actively logged in. And letās be honest. 90% of those with 8 alts arenāt active enough on them all to warrant the used data on these servers.
4. Give people a legit incentive to transfer off of these servers. Give them a mount or an outfit or a $10 mog station credit for moving all of their characters on an account to a lower pop server.
Thatās it. Would it solve all the problems? No, but it would help, and would work better than possible future mandatory moves.
