Anyone else think Blizzard fumbled with the Haronir?
To my mutuals who probably don't play World of WarCraft:
Night elves (on Alliance allegiance) evolved from the trolls (Horde allegiance) by a magic well called the Well of Eternity that was made by a mysterious moon goddess named Elune.
In the newest expansion of World of WarCraft, called Midnight, the Haronir (both allegiances) try to connect the elves (mostly blood elves (Horde), who were high elves (Alliance, but not playable) that are driven by thirst for arcane magic and renamed their race to honor their fallen brethren after an attack by the Scourge, who are undeads raised by the Lich King (neither allegiance. Formerly alliance), who is was a paladin who's basically possessed by a cursed sword called Frostmourne. High elves evolved from Night elves of course) and the trolls (mostly Amani trolls... Who are basically hostile to both allegiances).
Despite all the lore I talked about here, one Haronir revealed that trolls and elves evolved from the Haronir, which basically retcons the previous lore on these races.
It doesn't really make sense when you look at the Haronirāthey literally look like a cross between night elf and troll, which I think would have been better (I honestly think this was the main idea for the race)
