Consider adding some native sedges to your shade garden. Likely hairy sedge (Carex hirtifolia) came into my garden naturally and I took pieces and divided it. The mound form is great on it's own but it's also a really nice border species and excellent erosion control...plus you can plant other things between it

Working in wetlands when I started out in upland prairie means I am constantly subjected to Unfamiliar Thing My Teammates Call a Rush.* Encountered "river bulrush" the other day, which is an absolutely massive sedge I must say. Its genus? Bolboschoenus. Bolbo from my wetlandsβ¦
*it is very rarely a rush in the rush family Juncaceae. smh
