Omg y'all I turned on Spanish subtitles for an episode of DSN, and I almost completely understood them. There were a few words I didn't know, but I absolutely can put most sentences in Spanish together now (at least in written form for now) and I love it. Apparently a year and a half of Duolingo is actually really helpful.

i H8 having to train new people at work its been my first time since this job and the shift was interesting. the guy is definitely 45+ but trying to train him wasnt the easiest. i had to mention things to him multiple times and most of the time when i would explain something to him he would be in is own would but he would come back to what i was saying after maybe 10 sec so i would repeat myself. im definitely gonna talk to my manager cause hes gonna need a little extra time before he closes alone

anyone elses brain (when making a sentence) have all the words available to use but you have NOO clue what the correct order is. @c4nd1e and @stileswife24 (when she rememberes she has tumblr) can attest to this. the amount of times i have said something that kind of sounds like a sentence but really isnt and then go "that was not in the right order" and then struggle for a second before trying the sentence again.
i think it may be because i gre up around hindi and the sentence ctructuring in hindi and english are waayyyy different.

Weeeeell .... as my first language is French, and I speak English on tumblr... only speakers can judge my skill.
But as someone who works in IT, it's essential to at the very least understand the language and speak it so as I know I make mistakes, at least I am understood. I think. I hope!

I had the opportunity to take German as a second language in high school but I didn't because I had taken German from grade five to grade seven and I had a crappy teacher and by the end of it fourteen year old me was like "this shit is confusing and boring, ima nope out of this". Kinda regret it but also the kids who did take it made it sound so not fun.
