Literally the second I stepped out into the translation field everyone just switched over to the chatbots. Gang. THE ROBOT DOES NOT KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON. ANY linguist worth their salt can tell you that these things ABSOLUTELY SUCK AT TRANSLATING shit and NONE OF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THEM CORRECTLY, EVEN IF it’s “jUsT a ToOl”, YOU AREN’T GONNA USE THE TOOL CORRECTLY UNLESS YOU HAVE ACTUAL EXPERIENCE AND CAN USE YOUR BRAIN LIKE A GROWN-UP.

IT TREATS WORDS LIKE THEY’RE DATASETS OF NUMERICAL MATRICES THAT CAN BE ADDED AND SUBTRACTED TO FIND THE MOST LIKELY OUTCOME. IT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE CULTURE, IT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE CONTEXT, AND IT IS COMPUTATIONALLY INCAPABLE OF ABSTRACT THOUGHT. You wanna know how I know? NOT ONLY did I spend ELEVEN YEARS STUDYING LINGUISTICS, I ALSO just so happen to be one of the ORIGINAL PRODUCT TESTERS FOR GPT 3.5 FROM THE START OF THE DECADE. I TRIED to warn them about this shit, but all they would tell me was “we’re working on it”. LLMs CANNOT TRANSLATE WORTH A SHIT. They simply DO NOT have the language processing capabilities of a human brain. You know why? BECAUSE IT’S A COMPUTER NETWORK AND IT’S MADE OF REPLICATING CIRCUITRY THAT TAKES UP MORE SPACE THAN A HOMELESS SHELTER WOULD. It WAS NOT evolved over MILLIONS OF YEARS.
