harley is jonthan’s closest (read: only) friend, and her fear of needles (shown in btas) is what inspired him to incorporate them into his costume. while she was trying to help him figure out a good costume, she listed off a bunch of things that scared her, and needles were very close to the top of her list.

she hated every second of it, but she helped him figure out how to attach them in a way that wouldn’t fall off but still allow them to function.
