I mean I know and a lot of others know my main way of enjoying fandoms is with ships, and Scraps x Scarecrow is my main ship, but my autistic lesbian mind may have attached to her too much.

This isn't even near all of them, I just hit the limit for the first grouping. Scraps may not be in a lot of Oz media by comparison, but the little she's in, I'm determined to find and read/watch all of them. I've read/watched all of these and more, I may make a list at some point.

Like there both is and is no gender to the attraction she just thinks he is the most visually pleasing being she's met in her whole life. She does also adore him personality wise and thinks he's of the greatest there as well.

...This only goes to my headcannon of Scarecrow identifying with more then one gender and using he/him.

Ozma x Dorothy ~ Well they've been kissing since they started becoming good friends as kids. Kisses on the cheek, kisses on the forehead, greeting kisses, goodbye kisses, cuddles kisses, just because kisses, we kissed on the lips how did this happen, anyway more kisses -

You know the hand organ that was mentioned exactly once in the entire 14 book series, in a sentence saying he often plays it at home to pass the time. That one. He is neither particularly bad neither is he particularly good at it.

He thinks he's romantic.

She appreciates the sentiment but he has no idea of the amount of self-restraint it takes her not to throw her apron at the instrument.

2. Who is the most insecure and what makes them feel better?

The Scarecrow 100%. Scraps helps him out, though, by pointing out how illogical his insecurities are (e.g. "Of course you're not an idiot, Scare, or else you'd never have become Ozma's advisor").

4. Who can’t keep their hands to themselves?

Scraps. She's definitely a cuddler lol. She helped the Scarecrow become more comfortable with being romantic, since he was almost completely inexperienced when they first met.

12. What first changes when it starts getting serious?

Scraps starts spending a lot more time at the Scarecrow's house and starts leaving things of hers there. It starts small, such as her sewing kit, but eventually she's leaving all sorts. It gets to the point that the Scarecrow has to admit she'd basically moved in.

18. When they fight, how do they make up?

One time Scraps serenaded the Scarecrow as a way of apologising after a fight. Fortunately, it worked, since she'd gotten multiple members of Ozma's court to join in and play instruments.

29. Why do they fall a little bit more in love?

The Scarecrow likes someone who challenges him, while Scraps likes someone who can help keep her grounded when she really needs it.

My ships (Scraps x Scarecrow and Dorothy x Ozma) will be involved in this, do y'all expect anything less from me at this point?

Acknowledging Ruth (unfortunately) but also Magical Mimics which I do love, and also discussing how Oz actually progressed technology wise. By the point of Neill's actually having elevators, beginning of cars and much more progression. (It's actually an interesting study for the full 40 I do want to make something on that later)

So. Some ideas I'd like to explore based on it all.

Ozma bonding with Ozana. Finally having family she can speak with, even with their differences. Just, exploring their relationship. Even exploring what Magical Mimics set up with all of Lurline's followers/children of sorts coming to meet and speak with her.

There's a lot of...issues regarding this. But I do think about, Oz is actually an empire with all regions, and then many, many kindoms in them. Ruth in particular had a great deal of fun with this idea.

So...what if at some point some of Ruth's kingdoms started uniting and basically creating civil war with each other?

I loved Magical Mimics and do think it would be fun to further explore them...particularly expanding on their horror elements (it's already considered one of the darkest and scariest books in the series...there's lots of potential). Let them break loose from their mirror prison and this time make a much more slow attempt at taking over Oz.

As much as I like exploring their relationship starting around the 14 point I do think it would be interesting to explore Scarecrow and Scraps relationship in the idea of the incredibly slow burn of the 40. Where they, clearly still adore each other and have crushes, but both are by this point not wanting to hurt their friendship and concerned to attempt to move forward.

Particularly thinking of how their relationship is portrayed in Magical Mimics, which is one of my favorite portrayals of their relationship outside of the 14.

So just, exploring how that looks and them dealing with whatever the adventure is by my set up so far cival war and horror mimics and what the, eventual breaking point to lead to courtship will be.

I've been really in the mood to write this particular story lately.

...And part of it is Scraps just going "So are we going to be in a courtship or not?"

An aspect of the technology advancement I'd like to explore is the travel. For so much of the Oz books is them exploring by foot and what they find on the way. So things such as trains and cars expanding throughout Oz will forever change that, kinda in a depressing way but technically a safer one. Supposedly.

I think this would be interesting to explore as well. Particularly as so much of Oz is farmers, I imagine trains will be a big deal to ship their food and supplies.

I think some stories exploring this and exploring the characters in a new train that maps all of Oz, watch me put this into the Scraps x Scarecrow and Dorothy x Ozma fics, that would be interesting. Just also, thinking of their perspective of comparing the travel to all their adventures.

One last plot idea I'll put here, as this post is getting long. And this was one of the first plots I explored when I really started getting into the deeper lore of Oz beyond the 14.

Is the technical sequels to the 40 being those books Baum's family commissioned. And how in them, we follow Dorothy's descendents.

So. Technically, within the expanded Oz universe, Dorothy does leave Oz, grow up, and have kids of her own.

...I think there is a lot of angst potential here. Making some alterations and following what would lead up to this. Especially, Ozma dealing with this and how much that must be breaking her to have Dorothy leave.

(For anyone I have now concerned, she is back in Oz by the end of that trilogy, but I'll try not to spoil the rest).

My ideas on this are really more on the looser concept of this idea eventually happening or is going to happen. One idea is having Ozma leave Oz, letting herself age as she travels, all to find an adult Dorothy with her kids and speak with her. (This plot was actually one of my first bigger Oz stories...Dorothy had been widowed years ago so I do have her and Ozma rekindle a friendship that leads to romance).

The second idea, which is another of my older plots I explored a lot, is Ozma learns this is going to happen in Dorothy's future. And she starts doing what she can to try to keep this from happening.

Much drama and shenanigans but all leading to an alternate path where she stays so we can have a happy ending in Oz together.

I have more ideas on this. But this is where we are getting into some of my longer AUs.
