A theme I enjoy with Scarecrow and his love interests is, he is very fond of forehead kisses.
From the very nightmare fuel movie Patchwork Girl made by Baum, Scarecrow repeatedly gives Scraps forehead kisses to show affection. And I like to point out she is actually taller then him here. I keep this as a headcannon for the book version that he likes to give her forehead kisses often.
And then Fiyerocrow and Elphaba. (Behind the scenes yes but still the actors who helped make these characters SO).
I love both these ships and think this is a very adorable theme. While these are my examples I have seen this done often with his character.
So, Scarecrow, no matter what version, no matter his partner's height likes to wrap them in his arms and give forehead kisses. I love this very much.

Since it's Pride month, do I get to show everyone pictures to show my love for various versions of Scraps?
I mean I know and a lot of others know my main way of enjoying fandoms is with ships, and Scraps x Scarecrow is my main ship, but my autistic lesbian mind may have attached to her too much.
This isn't even near all of them, I just hit the limit for the first grouping. Scraps may not be in a lot of Oz media by comparison, but the little she's in, I'm determined to find and read/watch all of them. I've read/watched all of these and more, I may make a list at some point.
Anyway I absolutely adore her.
What's funny to think is book Scarecrow would probably lose it a little if he ever met Fiyero, knowing he is another world version of him.

No, Scarecrow, who has a superiority complex over being a Scarecrow and not meat just learned he has a counterpart who is a meat person. And is not thrilled with being a Scarecrow on top of it.
Y'all can't tell me he wouldn't be at least a little distressed and annoyed by this fact.
...Give him a few minutes though. His complex will get worse, for clearly he's better off then his counterparts as he's the one who has always been a Scarecrow.
Wait until he hears about Elphaba, the for some reason green misunderstood wicked witch of the West, and Glinda, vastly different from his all powerful and all knowing one. And Fiyero hears about both Scarecrow's romantic relationship with Scraps, a living doll who is mildly horrifying to people, and how close he is with Nick. Nick who is, very much not Boq the rich Munckin.
Lil Patchcrow headcannons on endearments.
Scarecrow does the really formal and traditional endearments such as "Dear" "Darling" "Beloved" and such.
Meanwhile Scraps comes up with the ridiculous and sometimes slightly embarrassing nicknames like "Snuggle straw."
