#scab picking

i had a scab that was basically all the way healed and i just dug it out of my skin

oh I have this super bad whenever I get cuts or scabs or whatever

Leo

you’ve had this conversation with Leo like a million times now

you don’t want to keep picking scabs until they scar 

so every time he see’s you do it he gives you that look

that says “hey, why you doing that?”

he’s also very handy with plasters/band aids so he’s always patching you up when you start to bleed

but he gets why you do it, it’s a nervous habit and a fixation that you can’t control

so he doesn’t judge you for it

Raph

Raph kind of has the same problem

so he has no idea how to help

but he’ll catch you picking at them and take your hands in his

and give you a “babe, stop that”

and you have to do the same with him

it’s difficult but you catch each other out on it all the time

and you support each other through it

he still ends up picking at them in secret and you “tell him off” for it

Mikey

Mikey’s a bit squeamish

so he always asks you to stop because blood and scabs are not his deal

he has gone as far at to tape oven mitts to your hands to stop you from picking

“baby, you know that makes me feel weird when yo do it!!”

he doesn’t mean to offend but it just eeks him out

 when you tell him it;s your new years resolution to stop he fully supports this

he just wants you to feel better and he knows the scarring brings you down

Donnie

Donnie always knows when you’re stressed because that’s when you pick at them more

wears a ring on a chain around eir neck. Fiddles with this when eir nervous.

in the AU ey would’ve done the same with eir dog tags while in the regiment. The ring is a replacement for those. (Cuz I’m correct in my thinking the renegades don’t use dog tags? That seems to be what I’ve picked up on from various excerpts and stuff. If I’m wrong replace the ring with dog tags)

AU? Idk not like ey have any family ey would’ve gotten it from... hmm. No. Actually it belonged to one of eir crew. Yeah that works.

Chewing on eir lip as well.

Picking at scabs or hangnails.

Or making random noises.

Tongue clicking. Humming. Etc.

Also picks at her nails.

She can’t grow them long cuz she’ll inevitably tear em short. Nail polish will get picked or chipped off as well.

Randomly braiding little braids into her hair before she cut it short.

Aislin:

I feel like we know hers already from OAMOT but

Rubbing/picking at her wrist(s).

Just absentmindedly at old scars.

Or worrying with the end of her sleeve if it’s long, or the hem of her shirt.

Humming.

And yeah she does that anyways nervousness or not. But you can always tell if it’s because of nerves cuz then it’s only one song she’s humming, and that’d be the lullaby she remembers her mother singing to her as a small child.

Castor -

If he’s fidgety at all though he’s either very comfortable in his surroundings, or really nervous/anxious.

Mostly just gets even quieter than normal.

Faye -

Constantly has some sort of rock in her pocket from Serena

Fiddles with this absentmindedly

Running her fingers over it or turning it over and over in her hands.
