I've been periodically sharing this on my story since I found out about it, but since the deadline is nearing, I better share it on my feed as well! 🙏 @savethesanmarcosfoothills is a group looking to purchase a section of natural land in my local area that would otherwise be developed into several multimillion-dollar mansions by its current owner. ((If you know anything about Santa Barbara county, it's that we have more than enough of those!!)) This would PERMANENTLY alter the local landscape, wildlife, nature. 🌄 By purchasing this land, SaveTheSanMarcosFoothills will keep it as a natural preserve, open to the public! This is also with the support of my tribe, too, as we have historic connections to the natural land here! ((It's nice to see a group actually consult with a tribe about something for once, lmao...)) 🌎 This is obviously something really important and time-sensitive, so if you're not able to donate, at least visit their Insta page/website and spread the message. This has been a massive crowdfunding effort, with the majority being small donations, so this proves that every little bit really counts. 🌈 If you do make a donation, it will go through the @santabarbarafoundation , and, if this is ultimately unsuccessful, the money will still go towards preserving and upkeeping the surrounding local wilderness, so it's not a totally lost cause either way. 🐍 Thank you if you've read all of this!! I really appreciate your time and consideration. 🌳 #savethesanmarcosfoothills #santabarbaracounty #sbcounty #preserve #seeadonationmakeadonation #fundraiser #sanmarcosfoothills #cali #california #chumash #native https://www.instagram.com/p/CPV4RITMamU/?utm_medium=tumblr
